Unofficial Tex Murphy

HELLO TEX FANS!!!!! How the hell are ya?! Well, I figured it's been awhile since I've graced the board with my presence, so here I am. Just thought I'd pop in and see how everyone is doing and to get an update on good Ol Tex and figure out if there's anything new on the horizon. I've been out of the loop for awhile, and due to my recent purchase of an iPhone, I've been reliving some Tex memories.

I started uploading tons of music and audio files onto my iPhone so I could have something decent to listen to while I'm out driving all day....(I work for FedEx now as a courier - driving deep into Union Co, KY every single day). I uploaded a cd I had put together of Tex one-liners and music from the games. I also uploaded the Tex Murphy Radio Theater files. I gave them all a listen to again today, and I found myself frustrated at the end just as I was frustrated the first time I listened to them. I can live with the idea that another TM game may never be made...that's fine. But I am really really really needing that story to be complete. I gotta know what happens.

Nothing Tex related has happened lately.

Big Finish Games is preparing to release a new game called Escape from Thunder Island. Hopefully it will make some money for AC an CJ.

There is the novel that was recently mentioned.

A novel? I would love to have a novel. Can I get some more info? And what all can you guys tell me about this game coming out?

The important thing is that I am, in fact, working on the long-awaited novel that picks up from the end of Overseer. Ideally, things will go as they did with The Pandora Directive novel, which (as Jen accurately described) was written first and adapted into the game script, as opposed to the UKM novel, which was written two years after the game was released (and featured much of my original storyline, which was changed in the finished game).

There's also the interactive radio theater project, which I'm quite excited about. As (I believe it was) Bjyman pointed out, there really is story context for Tex's stakeout outside a steakhouse, and this is the vignette of the IRT experience.
