UAKM not saving game (using Dosbox .74)

I recently installed UAKM on my HTPC so my family could enjoy some Tex goodness. I installed the game using dosbox and made the necessary config adjustments in dosbox to get it to run with the exception of one strange bug. It won't save the games properly. It acts like it saves and the file is created but it doesn't actually save anything. The game starts back at Day 1 (we were part way into Day 2 for the last save). Not sure if it is a dosbox thing or something with the game. Anyone else run into this issue?

nope, now days the save files are hidden & you normally only find one save in the uakm folder.
you don't really tell me what system you are running so. under vista/w7 save files are in c:user/your name/application date/local/virtual store and then look for the folder on uakm.

if you use xp look under program files

Some clarifications.....

I am using WinXP.
I am using the CD version of the game that I purchased when the game first came out; Not the GOG version.

I can see the savegame files that get created in the mounted folder where the game is located. They just don't seem to be getting updated with anything useful and remain at the 3KB filesize.

well xp saves in the game folder, there is an easy set up as a player & of course your name your have created so if its not in your folder check the easy folder

I can see the game save files. The ones that I created when making the saves and I see the EASY ones as well. The problem is that, no matter which file I select (even the EASY ones) it starts at the beginning of Day 1. When I save a game it creates a save file but doesn't update it. The file creation date shows 1992 if I remember correctly (not at home a.t.m.) and accessed with the current date. It's bizarre. I'll have to fiddle with it some more to figure out why it is doing this.

When you click on load game the only save file you see is day 1 tex office is this correct.
you say you see the saved games is that when you click on load game or in the program folder.


when you save it goes back to day 1 does it start with the planets in the sky at the very start of the game & then go to tex in the office talking to the colonel, or just take to tex's office.

I see all of the saves. The ones under EASY that are broken out by each individual day and the ones that were created by me. No matter which one is selected it immediately takes me to Tex's office on Day 1.

actually today I read a post on gog about the saving problem, one user deleted the easy file saves & that solved the problem. I think they talked about the save files being duplicated or not saving to the right place. another solution was running as administrator.

this saving in the wrong folder makes sense that uakm is looking at the wrong for the save files.

On my dual boot I have uakm running on xp & w7, uakm save files are under program files.
