If they made a Tex Murphy movie.....
I was working today, and I got a thought in my head. If they were to make a Tex Murphy movie, and for some reason, Chris Jones couldn't be used as the main character....who would be good to fill that void?
My vote goes to Aaron Eckhardt from "The Dark Knight" and "Thank You for Smoking" fame. He's got a great look, he's an incredible actor, and I think he would do our favorite gumshoe justice in that role.
What do you guys think?

funnily enough i was just thinking Ed Norton might worklestat666 wrote:I say Gary Oldeman, because he is just an amazing actor or Edward Norton, because he is just great a monologues (fight club)
I gots a webcomic! http://yetanothercomic.com
I still gotta go with Aaron Eckhardt, purely from a visual standpoint. He's got that look to me and I think he would play the role perfectly.
I love Ed Norton, but I just don't see it when I picture him. I don't know how to describe it.
Anyone else got any other thoughts on this topic?

I cant see any of them in the roll of Tex, they dont look really down on thair luck, CJ really has that romantic P.I feal to him(and the voice). Now i cant find a suitable actor to him credit. Aaron Eckhardt and Ed Northon have too much fire in theyr eyes and look as if theyr better souited for action rather then the Bogart look of the 40's. cant really see them in my head waring a trench coat and a fedora. but thats just me
argh i cant see the first part of plan 10!!! ;(

As much as I love Bruce Willis, I think there's something about him that would detract from the role. When you look at Bruce, you kinda sense a swagger about him....a cockiness. And I don't know mean that in a bad way...because it really freakin' works for him and it makes the roles he takes go to that next level.
Hmmm...I don't know. I agree thought...it is hard to imagine anyone else in the role after CJ. Especially because of the voice.

when seeing him now i totaly agree maybe a bit to comic though.Gunslinger wrote:A few years back I thought about this and I thought of Ryan Stiles. He resembles Chris Jones a little bit and could pull off the monologues. Although no one could truly replace Chris Jones.

MARSO84!!! HOLY PANDORA DEVICE!! How could I have not thought of Hugh Laurie?!?! He's perfect! He's already got the beaten down by life look going by playing House, and he can definitely pull off the sarcastic humor of Tex, and everything else would be perfectly played by him. Great call...absolutely great call!
