Woot!!!! Sucker is heavy! Now all I need is the street date of Dance with Dragons to be completely broken, and life will be grand!!

Man i was so mad last year when LoTR hit Blu-ray but it was just theatrical release.

Even though i'm trying to sell all my DVDs etc, i might have to pick this up ^^

Afaik, the release date for Dance with Dragons is july 12th. So not that far off.

Fred, it kills me that some places in Germany and Japan it was released early (amazon). I've already prepaid for mine, and thought I could stand it till I learned there were fellow mortals enjoying it as I type.

LOTR on blu ray? Cool! Wish I had a blu ray player now - it's the one thing I'd buy blu ray for.
But is the picture quality better? It wasn't filmed in HD or 3D or anything like that, so can they edit it and make it better afterwards if it was only ever filmed in normal D??

well DVDs aren't exactly the highest quality, and even Blu-ray pails in compaison to the quality of actual film... but it is a better picture.

Yeah, I've never heard of Dance With Dragons either.

Plum - Jen is right...you definitely need to set aside a saturday for watching all of the LOTR movies. A must...a definite must.
