Torchwood is back
Hey I just saw the first two episodes of the new Torchwood season. Nice to see Captain Jack and Gwen again. There's a cute scene where she puts little pink earmuffs on her baby before she starts shooting at a helicopter outside her window. Very hilarious.
Anybody else excited to have Torchwood back?

Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.

I tried to get into Torchwood when it first aired. Since it is a spinoff of Doctor Who, I thought I'd give it a whole season so I watched the first 13 episodes but just couldn't get into it. So I never watched season 2 or the Children of Earth. Some friends of mine say I should watch Children of Earth. Was it good?

Children of Earth was so sad. It was exciting and different. I was in tears at the end.
I can't just say if you like Doctor Who you'll like Torchwood. They are two radically different shows. Torchwood is a harsher more adult show with more violence and sex (that may or may not sell it to you). There are still bouts of comedy in it and you get attached to the characters.
This season of Torchwood is on Starz instead of BBC America because they did not want any censorship restraints. I've seen so gory and explicit stuff so far. Definitely not for the kiddies.

Demonlawyer,
I've only seen 3 episodes, and they are moving sooo slow. I know they are stretching it out for the series, but it just feels like it's taking forever to get anywhere. I guess I have to accept they don't have all their old resources at Torchwood HQ with their fancy equipment.
Wow the sex scenes were racy. I felt like I should have covered my eyes. It's not nice to peep in on people like that.
I'm liking the new team mates. Another funny bit I enjoyed was when they were getting rescued from the airport and Gwen was complaining about the small rescue car. She was expecting a large SUV. Haha. Good bit.

You've seen three episodes!? They've only shown two here so far!
At least the end of the second one was at the airport when they got in the car - yes a great little touch - that it's not all fast cars and james bond stuff. Though it's big budget for Torchwood it seems.
I think it came about because it's co-funded by an American company, hence the reason they all head to the states - the BBC wasn't planning a fourth season on their own. I'm sure it will pick up in time, but again, maybe it was scripted for a ten season thing. I did think they might do ten episodes rather than one long story, but I'm sure it will have its sub-plots and twists to keep us going. Not sure where they're heading to next....?
