Hey, new here, long time Tex fan with questions

I first found out about the series around 1998 or 1997, when I rented UAKM from a local video-rental store (back when they rented-out PC CD-ROM games). After playing it, and beating it, I was hooked. I later bought Pandora Directive, then Overseer, myself; the former I haven't been able to get the good ending yet, and am still working on getting thru the latter. I love Tex games for their great intricate mystery-storylines, as well as for Tex's chooseable kinds of wisecracks to say to others while on the case. I know about Microsoft buying out Access Software awhile after Overseer was released, and am disappointed that no new Tex games have come out since then.

I just happened to stumble on this site, and think you guys running it are doing a pretty good job. It even feels like an official site. I loved those first 6 parts to Radio Theater here (saved them on my PC), and am curious how you got them, and when there'll be more. Do you guys have some kind of connection to the former Access Software team, or is the Radio Theater something I can also buy at an electronic store, or something like that? I assume it's what became of what would have been the post-Overseer game, right?

I'm also reading those other posts here about how there might be another Tex game, but without live-actors, and think that would really suck. Where-else can I get info on this? Is there an actual official Tex site out there somewhere?

Thanks, and keep up the good work. :)

Hi!

There is NO OFFICIAL site, but this site is the closest to it. It is the best place where you can get all the new info about Tex that you need :) .

The Radio Episodes were made for Tex fans by Access guys (Aaron Conners etc.), and as far as I know there will be no new ones. There are also some fan-made episodes, so called "Lombard Street". It is also very nice.

How did you guys get the Radio Episodes? Did the Access guys give them to you for the site? And are you sure there'll never be any new ones?

Hi Rodimus, James here... First off, welcome to the site and to the boards! Hope to see you here often!

The episodes of Tex Murphy Radio Theater were made by Aaron Conners and Chris Jones (and the rest of Team Tex) a few years ago as a side project. I was fortunate enough to have built up an email correspondance with Aaron in the course of running this site, and he contacted me and asked if I would be willing to host the episodes on the site as they were released.

For the moment, those six episodes are all there is, and no more are planned.

Aaron and Chris still have things simmering for new Tex stories of one variety or another, and "the Faithful" here on the message boards are usually privy to the inside scoop, straight from the horses mouth, as Aaron will occasionally pop his head in here and post a message, or get in contact with one of us via email and ask us to pass on a good word or two.

So, keep checking back often, and in the meantime welcome again!
Welcome, Rod! May you stay long and post as often as you like.

Hey Jim - I can't help myself on this. In the last post, you said to Rod:
Welcome, Rod! May you stay long and post as often as you like.
This reminds me of way back when my wife and I were dating. She would sneak me into her dorm room at college, but sometimes I would leave early to go hang out with my friends. She didn't like that very much.

One day, when I was going to come over again, her girlfriend asked what we were going to do. She replied, "I don't know, but he better be good and long." What she meant was that I should stay for a long time, but it didn't quite come out that way. heh.

Anyhow, your "stay long" to Rod, just brought back a good memory for me. Thanks.
Hey Doc -

I just realized what I wrote was, shall we say, interesting.
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
Welcome to the board, Rod. May your posts never go flat as you stay an ever vigilent reminder of the rock hard faith of Tex members. There, I made it worse, Paul. You're off the hook.
