They aired JP on TV here on sunday, got me thinking it was 19 years since it was relesed, still looked good to me :) sometimes in newer movies that looked good at the time look really crap today because of the computer graphics, this did not, even though they used some in it. Here goes to show how much more organic things look when it is a propp and not some shitty computer animated thing.

cant wait for it to be relesed on blueray though :D

aw to see this on the big screen would be really great, i was to youngh to see this when it came out and i remember my parrants went out of thair way to stop us from seeing it, luckuly a friend bought the VHS and we saw it. I was so amazed :D remember braging to my dad that i had seen it :P he wasent pleased :P
I have them on dvd but the first ever blu-ray I cannot wait,
I went to see the first one when it was first released, I think from memory everyone was lineing up to see "men in black" a friend asked me would I go with her & she was surprised when I said I would go.

the one they are showing in the UK is the new digital version. The blu-ray sets included the original dvd's plus the new blu-rays.

I guess I saw Jurassic Park when I was 8 at the cinema. It was rated as simply PG here so no problems with age limits though my parents let me watch stuff above my age limit anyway.

It was amazing and one of the few films I distinctly remember wanting to go see a second time when I saw the billboards for it around still. But others weren't so keen to see it twice as well as the cost so I had to wait for the TV and video release etc. I still have some diecast metal collectible figurines from the film I collected back then at the video store.

I went to see the Back to the Future cinema re-release because I didn't get to see that at the cinemas. I was born the year it was released, 1985! I guess I'll try and see this if I can afford it. There's also the Lion King re-release, if I wasn't broke I'd see them all.

Honestly, I've only seen the first two JP films (joke aside that I posted above). I remember seeing the first film at the cinema and was actually a little underwhelmed. But that's not strange because even at school, I actually had no interest in dinosaurs so already the concept of Jurassic Park was falling on deaf ears. I was more blown away by Independence Day. In fact, ID4 might be the greatest cinematic experience of my life, closely rivaled by Dark Knight.
ooh i was a real dino nutter back then, seeing Dinoriders on tv and looking trough all my friend's dino related books, playing with all the JP toys. Actualy remembering some dino names too.

ID4 was amasing on the big screen, i really love that movie, have it in all the formats, vhs, dvd, (AVI) and blueray. Cant understand why so many hates it. Like why? it has action, a love story, no make that 2 love storys, more action, seeing america laied to waist :P i acutaly found a audio drama relating to the movie too, its called children of the gods and its really good for a non proffit website.

You're almost exactly like me. Born same year too! I don't think any film has as much of a profound effect on me as Jurassic Park did. In fact, similarly to you, I went back to see it another 2 times at the movies when it was still out. It is still, to this day, the only film I have seen 3 times at the movies. Had all the action figures, the clothes, and collector cards, and even had the biggest crush on Lex.

It was really great reliving all of that on the BluRay!

-Cub. =o)
received my blu-ray's today can't wait to watch it

While I did not have any of the toys or collector's stuff for Jurassic Park, I did see it plenty of times (and have seen it plenty of times since, oh yes!)

And like you Cub, I too had a small crush on Lex. Although she got overshadowed a bit by Wednesday Addams that same year, I'll admit.

That scene where the water vibrates in the cup, that's one of the most memorable scenes (sans dialogue) in film for my part.

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
