Top 100 All-Time...
The Top 100 countdown has commenced... UAKM has ranked in at #25... No sign of Pandora yet, but the Top 20 are yet to come... Lots of Sierra games in there, not that that's a big surprise...

Only the Top 10 to go now... Still no sign of Pandora, it better be in the top 10... Personally I'd put it in the Top One, but that's just me...
I've seen some games that personally I don't think should have even been on the list, but we have to accept what they've chosen...
I've also seen a lot of games I want to add to my play list after reading their short summaries...
Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney, don't get me wrong I own all the editions to this game and love them, but I'm not sure I would consider it an Adventure Game... You're exploring Crimes Scenes for starters not Mysterious Caverns and whatnot and there's no risk of death at every turn...
Not too mention the game won't let you proceed until you've collected everything... I prefer the types where you get to where you're going and then realize you've forgotten something but can't go back to get it... You know kind of like the Watch in UAKM...
Well we'll find out tomorrow...

I bet the longest journey will be listed in the final 10, no mention of any of the brokenn swords as yet. Strange that the original myst scored higher than the others.
Glad to see the black dahlia get a mention in the 60's.
Maybe we might see pandora as under UAKM it mentioned overseer & not pandora so maybe they left it out for the final 10

Guaranteed Day of the Tentacle is going to be in the top ten, The Longest Journey, Pandora, the Beast Within, The Last Express, Grim Fandango, and Monkey Island II Lechuk's Revenge. I am surprised that Blade Runner was 21... I thought that should have been in the top ten.
Not sure what the other one's will be.
Maybe Runaway.

Wow you went and took up 7 of the slots that easily... lol
You wanna put them in any kind of order to see how right you might be???
I truly hope that Pandora is named #1 {or at least top 5, though making the top 10 would be good praise as well}, that could give a nice boost to the fan base, especially since it is available for play on modern computers...
I ran across someone this past holiday season that named Tex among other games from the 90s in a conversation about games when I was shopping for my Son... I pointed him towards GOG, can just hope for the best from there...

I feel the same way about Ace Attorney. I got one of them (I don't recall which one right now) and played it a while. (I figured as an attorney it would be good practice.Bafitis wrote:Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney, don't get me wrong I own all the editions to this game and love them, but I'm not sure I would consider it an Adventure Game... I have to say I approve of Grim Fandango being listed as #1.
That being said, I also approve of Pandora Directive being among the top 10. You guys might not know this about me, but I am a huge admirer of the Tex Murphy games...

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Terrific top ten, except I would have included amongst the top 10:
- Blade Runner
- Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Remove:
- Portal 2
- Riven
For the latter 2, they're not bad games by any means, but belong somewhere between #11 and #19. My issue with Riven is that I think the style, meticulous art direction and atmosphere charmed the critics ahead of the actual substance of the gameplay. I know the Myst series is about the subtle elements, but to be honest, when I was playing this as an 11 year old, I felt utterly alienated by the experience given the level of difficulty. I love a challenge, but Riven was a little too cryptic. I must revisit that one day and finish off what I started.

Ranking 25 and 9 isn't too shabby... I would have liked Pandora to be in the Top 5 myself, if not the #1 spot... But with the exception of a few select choices, I have to say it is a pretty good list...

Well all my picks were in the list, except runaway..... but i just through that one out there cause i couldn't think of anything else.
I think day of the tentacle should have been higher and so should have pandora. Beast within did win game of the year in pc gamer over pandora that year it came out.
I personally liked pandora better myself.
Riven?? seriously?

I'm intrigued they added Bad Mojo. I thought I was the only one who ever played that game
