The Tex Murphy Forum B is no more
After a few successful attempts at cleaning out the trash via some regular maintenance (phoney users, spam and ad-ware based accounts, etc.) I came to the conclusion that it was too much work to maintain a forum that is not used.
So I attempted to update the Phpbb source code and structure to the latest version... but seeing as I had not updated since creating the forum (was using 2.0.10 while the latest is 2.0.18 ) I was met with a bunch of errors and bugs that would take too long to fix, and so I came to the conclusion that Forum B must make its graceful departure from Cyberspace.
Either way, I am more than certain that our current forum is in very capable hands and do not imagine the same issues that we had with the old forum arising at any stage thanks to James’ incredible efforts.
Anyway, just thought I would let everyone know.
Also, I have replaced the default page from the old forum to link to this forum so all users who may find Forum B, rather, its resting place (and a few have) will be pointed in the right direction.
