I recently came across a Black Widow in a warehouse I was working at and also saw a show on deadly spiders a day or two ago and was just wondering since many of you are from other countries, have you had any deadly spider encounters? More specifically, the show I watched talked about funnel spiders that freaked me the hell out and realized that many of you that frequent this forum are from Australia and wanted to know your stories.
Here are a few not so good pics of the spider I saw a while ago

That looks like a pretty big spider - how big are they normally? I wouldn't know a poisonous spider if it came up and bit me.

All spiders are deadly and must therefore die.

I happen to love spiders, they eat all those pesky insects like Mosquitoes and other annoying bugs... Same goes for Bats... Really hope they can figure out a way to help with the White Nose Syndrome that bats are going through...

If and when I ever visit your fair country, Mat, I'm bringing along flame throwers. Note the plural.

arachnophobia, I loved that movie. I had to close my eyes when the queen was attacking the doctor.
well over here in australia I haven't had any encounters with spiders but when I do see them I kill them, most I see are only little redbacks.
Now if you asked me about snakes well yes I have some stories to tell.!

I remember a story a while back about a person who found a snake in their toilet.
An enormous one.... I can't remember what kind it was though.
Happened in Australia too. Not sure where.

found a spider crawling around last night, don't care how big it is & how harmless I always kill it.
Some people say to leave it unless its a danger as it eats the insects but I just don't like them.
With snakes I agree let them be & just get away fast
