We are so close to hitting 3 million dollars that it is going to be a nailbiter. (About $128,000 left to hit 3 million on KS) However as it gets down to the wire I hope donations will start picking up. If you want to donate, up your pledge, or simply watch the action go to http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/667 ... -adventure

Man, with that kind of money, they could make a whole slew of games since they only needed 400k to make the one.

The 400k would have been for a smaller scale adventure. The 3 million should be enough for a full blown adventure game!!

I can say it will hit 3 million dollars. We're even being told not to continuously refresh the Kickstarter page in the last few minutes to avoid shutting things down. I miss old school boxes that games like Tex Murphy came in so Tim certainly knows how to market.

$100 Jen? Guess I'll see you on the credits!

Yep! Only 53k to go! As the backers view this latest email update, (it hit my box a few hours ago) I think more folks will bump up their $$$ to get the cool swag!

I haven't purchased a game in a while other than some collector's boxes of blizzard games.

Umm... what is the difference between the old box stile and the new?

I am familiar with the old style, but not the new.

Have any examples?

The new computer game boxes are smaller. To see an example you can go to your nearest computer outlet or maybe even Google images. The grand total btw is $3,445,325, which is almost the cost it took to make Pandora.

I think you're off by about 310,000, I'm sure it was just a type dude... $3,335,325, with a total of 87,139 Backers... Which by the way averages out to roughly $38.27 per Backer...
I certainly hope Mr. Schafer doesn't disappoint... That's a lot of people and a lot of money... I look forward to what he produces given his over inflated budget that I'm sure he didn't expect...
Getting double what he was asking for would have been something, but here we are talking about 8 times what he was asking for... He just got more money than the President makes in all 4 years in office...

Where did you get the Info for Pandora's Budget???

Man.... that is all the president gets?

That has to be one of the most stressful jobs in the world and that is all he gets?

Ouch.

Of course... I always thought surgeons should be paid that much or more, since you know... they save lives. Same with Firemen since they risk their lives.

Anyway.... sorry.. not trying to hijack.

Actually I think you're trying to say $110,000. There were contributions so big that couldn't be processed by Kickstarter, but still count as part of the campaign.

LOL
So it seems both of us made errors...

I also made an Error in regards to what the President makes... I previously said 4 years, actually to reach 3.2 million he needs to serve all 8 years that he is allowed, but he needs to be re-elected for that...
The President only makes $400,000 a year and they even pay taxes on it... But once out of office they get paid for their various appearances for this or that, plus if they write any books they make money for that, etc there are lots of ways that they make more and more and more money...

I think we should up the President's pay to 500 grand and then put a law into place that NO One can make more than the President {this includes bonuses}... Any extra money company makes should go back into the business or to benefit the country in someway... This would put those Bankers and other CEOs in their place...
Plus since they aren't taking Millions in bonuses they will be able to afford to pay their employees more which in turn would increase consumer spending which would boost the economy and increase demand, which then would create jobs...

Anyway back to the topic at hand... How is it that the number of Backers and the Total have increased when the Donation period has closed??? I guess it took a little while for the computers to up date, maybe there were some last minute donations and the servers only up date every so often, so it didn't come through until a certain time...

Well with the new numbers posted the average total per Backer is $38.28 now, if you round up it is $38.29...
Don't forget that Kickstarter will take $166,818.55, that's what their 5% fee comes out to... Not bad for doing nothing but hosting a Server... This sale alone will probably cover their Rent for the 2 years, unless they decide to chance locations...
And don't forget Amazon's cut for processing the payments... Can't find how much their cut is though... I'm sure it is in the agreement somewhere when you post a Pledge Ad...

When I saw this on the News they were working out of a 2 room apartment above a store in New York... At about the 3 minute mark on this Video Clip shows you their office setup...
