"the fragile" is epic in every way. true classic of epicness. "the great below" takes me away, deep into the unconscious space. but that`s true to half of nin songs, if you listen to them with closed eyes, in the dark, headphones on

i loved "man on fire" and "300" (and the way they used jlyi in its trailer)

my favorite part of "gave up" from aatchb DVD is when they lower those three screens and son et lumière near the end becomes insane, guitar desperately resists and suddenly stops, leading to calm "la mer"

i discovered nin pretty accidentally - watching mTV spot, where agressive clips from hard rock/metal bands videos was layered on chorus of "starforkers inc."
wandering, whose song it was, i went online in search for the mp3 and found three versions of "starforkers" to download (internet was fairly new to me at that time and i didn`t know how to google and wikipeddle). i dicided on the last one in the list (why not all three, you ask? i don`t know, dial-up was very slow - 3,5 kb/sec or maybe i was too dumb or not that curious to listen them all). well, little do i know back then, that it was charlie clouser remix from "things falling apart", wich had little in common with the original and lacked the chorus, that catched me...

but as soon as i heard that weird ambient, industrial mess and masterful glitches, i understood - this is somethin i want to hear more. it was so fresh and new to me. the whole new world of different music. before i was mostly fond of more heavy-only oriented groups, like limp bizkit, korn, orgy, fear factory, soulfly and slipknot, but maybe because of ff`s "remanufacture" remix album i began to strive for more combination-of-guitar-and-electronics type of music. nothing records site was still online and there i found nin`s discography page (and my jaw dropped - too many halos and i don`t even knew what halo meant). i went to my local cd music store and bought "the perfect drug" - back then i didn`t realize it was about 20 song pirate collection of songs covering 1989-1996 years of creativity. but i liked it and that was the start of it all

The way I discovered NIN, thinking back on it is a drug story thinking back on it. Suffice it to say, without all the other mess being added to the story, the song "Closer" was being played on the radio, and in my mental state, the part after the lyrics had ended, and the rest was just instrumental .. it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever heard, and I told everyone at the party such. I was accused of just trying to get laid, but it was true. After that, I bought Downward Spiral, and after that album I would buy anything that had the NIN logo on it at my media store. I don't own all the Halo's, some of them just being single's with remixes of the single being the only thing on the discs, but I do own every one of their major albums, EXCEPT Ground Zero, which by the time that came out, I'd kind of fallen off the radar. I've heard some of the songs from it.

I'd also been a Korn, Limp Bizkit fan before NIN. (funny how back in the day, that band was really, really where it was at, and nowadays people give you a funny look if you even mentioned you liked em)

Nowadays when it comes to music, I can safely say that my tastes are ALL over the board. About the only music I can't stand to listen to is Country music, as it reminds me too much of my abusive step father, who I hated growing up. But today has seen a resurgence of some NIN in my life. Just haven't listened to em in a while.

And dude. Wow. You're voice is awesome. Two thumbs up! Listening to it now, and it's a lot better than I expected. A LOT better than I expected. Not to say that I just assumed it would suck, but I've heard a lot of self made karaoke type songs, I myself have done a few, and that's just awesome.

You're mp3 has reminded me of a little thing I did for someone at work on a dare. I think I'll post that on here, and see what you think. Totally unrelated but it's a dub of me doing Lady Gaga's "poker face" in my trademarked "Russian Accent". I switched some of the words around but its mostly just a cover. I've been trying to do a "Mcdonalds flavored" weird al take one Justin Timberlake's "I'm bringing sexy back" as well but I haven't finished it. As opposed to your sound, which I can only say sounds professional and actually good, I'm shooting for more of a weird al take on my tunes.

you know, being russian it`s not so fun to listen - i hear that $#it every day!
but i love lady gaga... early one. and justin`s "sexy back", it`s just great and sexy

funny, that you`ve said "professional", cause it`s actually cheap headphones` mic and windows sound recorder (and the only song, where my voice don`t suck [much] - hey, and my voice don`t suck! so, don`t ask me how does it feeeeeal)

but thanks anyway, i always wanted to be a rock star - but just lazy enough to give a damn

that looped synth sound right after "you get me closer to god" gives my brain some tickling feeling, almost like a drug i`ve never had...

korn`s "issues" i think is the most intelligent, melodic and depressive of their works
but i also liked "see you on the other side" of more recent endeavours - maybe because of atticus ross` involvment, but it`s got more electronic sound and not that bad. the one they did with skrillex is just too much electronic. and, of course, davis` howlings isn`t so actual this days

yeah, after nin my music tastes also expanded. but bach or mocarts are still boring to my ears

the only music I can't stand to listen to is Country music
