It's not friday but...

I was in a charity shop the other day and saw a small book I couldn't resist for the board - well, they seemed popular for a bit last year.

More puzzles to work out. Some of them have really stupid answers, but I figured one or two every now and then would keep people thinking and on their toes, so here are the first two...

A woman watched her husband plunge head first down a deep ravine. She returned home to find him in the kitchen, chopping onions. How is this possible?

Detective Sergeant Smith turned up at the station slightly later than he intended. He didn't start working, he just looked at his watch, signed and went home. His chief wasn't a stickler for punctuality, so why the change in heart?

easy peasy...!
I don't even understand the questions.

I refuse to take part in your macho head games David!

-Cub. =o)
Well the answer to the first one is obviously.... Onion hallucinations!
They're a little silly - the first one is that her husband is a stuntman doing a bungee jump and then he goes home for dinner. The second one - it's not necessarily the police station he goes to.
Hey David! Any puzzles we can incorporate into our story?
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"

He was at the train station? (Late for his train)

yep, he was late for his train, so went back home.

If only I could use that excuse at work...

Jim, I'll read it cover to cover (it's a small book!) and I'll let you know. I think probably not, sadly, but I will look.
