What happens if a backer's credit card is declined?

If a credit card is declined, an email is sent to the backer every 48 hours with a link to fix the issue. The backer has seven days to correct the problem. If they do not correct the payment during that seven day period, they are dropped as backers from the project and are no longer eligible to receive rewards. You can view the status of all your backers on your Backer Report.

If there is an issue with the payment method used there will be an "Action Needed" message at the top of your screen when logged into Kickstarter. Clicking on it will redirect you to Amazon, where you can change your payment method. Alternately, Kickstarter will send you an email every 48 hours with a direct link to correct the issue (check spam folder if you can't find it). Please note that according to Kickstarter backers have seven days to correct payment issues. After that grace-period the pledge and reward is cancelled.
