tex murphy is back in town
Backer exclusive area might be finally on its way :) I hope so anyway.
I just love how in Google, the top URL return for Big Finish Games is the "texmurphy.com" URL.

-Cub. =o)
While you are admiring the URL why not +1 it for G+. Couldn;t hurt to be trending on the worlds favourite search engine.
This is how we Kick It! GO BIG (Finish) or Go Home!

Wonder if there will be a further draw for any raffle items not claimed? They certainly do keep themselves busy!

Looking forward to the new site - I wonder if James will have a hand in it again?

I suspect the BFG site is made from Drupal, and in my experience with it, in order to update it you practically have to remove all your old files, replace it with the new ones, and then put your own original files back in again. It's not hard to do, but it is tedious and if you forget to do one step right, it can ruin everything. So they can take their time.

I hope the forum gets better. On the site I run, I installed a different forum software in a sub-directory.

I know, I've been thinking that too

I am a bit annoyed, though, that if you misspell "Finish" in any way, it always suggests Big Fish Games. :?
Never used Drupal but I've used Wordpress and you can create different installs in separate directories for different purposes. There's also a ton of useful addons available for it to make updating easier. Since they mentioned the backer only section would have dev blogs, using a blog software like Wordpress, that can also be expanded to other uses outside a blog, for that directory/section could work well.

For forum software I think phpBB like this forum would be nice. Comes with a lot of stuff as standard not currently on the BFG forum plus lots of themes or addons to add stuff they mentioned wanting to do like backer badges. But some other Kickstarters have used Invision Power Board or vBulletin.

Looks like the forum got an update. Posting images and smileys/emoticons work and some other features that were broken. They also added a badge for admins and more to come:
Yes...
We took down the site last night for a little upgrade.

There are a few more things working....
...and a few more to come.

Stay tuned!

:)

Oh and we have badges now...
KickStarter and PayPal users will be getting one!
(They will need some cosmetic "tuning")
Dunno if anything else on the site changed.

Your Facebook status updates work nicely on that as well.
