Still kickstarting
I love the whole idea of supporting people achieve their dreams and I'm backing another project which ends in a couple of days now. It's about a young girl trying to grow her business in selling honey.
When I backed it, there were just 14 backers, but then Wil Wheaton came along and encouraged everyone he knew to back it. Suddenly there were 300 backers and it's hit its target (yay!).

It is fun backing small projects and seeing them succeed.

Is it just me or is it kind of sad that Wil Wheaton only knows about 300 people???Demonlawyer wrote:When I backed it, there were just 14 backers, but then Wil Wheaton came along and encouraged everyone he knew to back it. Suddenly there were 300 backers and it's hit its target (yay!).

I haven't watched a lot of Star Trek so I mainly knew Will Wheaton through the Big Bang Theory.

I was born in 1985, but its repeated a lot on TV. I have watched episodes of it. But likewise I never really got into it, I watched it if it was on but didn't actively pursue checking out more. It seemed like a lot of episodes were all contained inside the ship and revolved around the relationships between the crew/passengers and less about exploring space and planets etc. Though I understand it was Deep Space Nine that went even further down that path (which I've also seen some of).
I've also seen some Star Trek Voyager, but again just casual. I just remembered because I forgot which one the borg girl was in and had to Google it and Voyager came up.
I think there are some characters you tend to remember because of them standing out, from TNG looking at an image of them standing together I mainly remember Data and the Klingon dude but Wheaton's character doesn't stand out as much.

Why not, Lynne? It falls under the food category. If anything, I find that large companies like double fine and obsidian who certainly aren't struggling should not be using kickstarter.plumgas wrote:well I don't think something like this should be on kick starter.

They may not have been struggling to stay afloat, but they were definitely struggling to work their dream projects. Which, let's face it, can only be good news for us.
Big Finish wasn't exactly struggling, either. Except with their dream project.
Okay, okay. OUR dream project...

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Yeah, not a bad thing, just a matter of preference really.Chandler wrote:Star Trek really always was about the interplay between the main characters; how they related to each other, and ot tense situations. Space was just the window dressing.
I haven't watched a lot of the original Star Trek. It seems only the newer ones like The Next Generation get repeated on TV. Haven't seen many of the original films either, but I enjoy The Voyage Home, due to the comedy aspect.

well its a project that she is extracting honey from nature "the bees" she didn't invent the bees nor did she buy them. Its not her own idea, extracting honey has been done for generations.
Personally I feel the family just put the daughters photo up so it would look better to suck people in. the rewards a postcard to say thank you yeah right.

I've seen all the Original Episodes, I've seen all the Next Generation Episodes, and I've seen all the Voyager Episodes... I've also seen All of the movies... I never really got into Deep Space Nine... It just didn't feel like Star Trek to me...
I'm not much of a fan of Wil Wheaton for the most part... I did enjoy watching him get blasted in Criminal Minds though... lol
He was good in Stand By Me... But otherwise I just don't care for him...
