Speaking of pulling a Cub - what's your poison?
Of the imbibers among us, what is your beverage of choice?
For myself, when I do drink, I prefer red wine. An Amarone, preferably. A Fumanelli or a Tommasi. If I have to go with something french, then a Clos des Brusquières Châteauneuf-du-pape will do nicely!
For something stronger, I tend to go with a brandy. A bottle Baron Otard (X.O.) for example, hopefully accompanied by a nice cigar. (Cuban cigars are not illegal in Norway, no trade embargo here!)
Or, to go with the theme, a Cuba Libre. Although I never mix and match, that tends to go horribly wrong! And nobody wants that.
Not much of a beer drinker, really. But a Sol, with a limeboat plopped in the neck? Well, in the words of captain Dudley Smith - That'll do, pig.
What about you guys? What can I expect to see at this release party?
C'mon... Tell dirty old unca Fred about your vices...

Pirates, vampires, zombies, ninjas, ghouls, aliens, goblins, monsters, robots, sorcerers, undead, werewolves, demons, mutated dinosaur-cyborgs and those pesky phone salesmen! The shotgun is a one-size-fits-all solution!
Well, I really don't like the taste of alcohol, so my options are pretty limited. I enjoy Midori sours. Tastes like a jolly rancher! That's my drink of choice. The assorted flavors of Mike's hard lemonades aren't bad, but if I really just want to get hammered (that hasn't happened in a LONG LONG time) I'll just pound a shot or two of te-kill-ya, and drown out the taste by washing it down with chips or soda or something.
I've never been able to get into wine. Just too sour/bitter for me. There is a sparkling wine that is one of my fav's called Flare from Spain. Otherwise, I prefer beer. A place in Colorado called New Belgium Brewery has a variety called Mothership Wit that is my fav. Unfortunately, I can't get it here in Maryland. Other than that wheat/citrus-y beers such as Blue Moon are good. And plain ole stuff like Miller/Coors light if there's nothing else. And I am a hard core user of Perrier!Fred Buer wrote: C'mon... Well you certainly won't get hammered at the release party.Hammerhead wrote:Harshest stuff I drink is Mountain Dew.

Incidently, Mountain Don't is a fine winter drink. Jagermeister mixed with Mountain Dew.
By contrast to some of you, besides the morning orange juice routine, I drink nothing else than water and alcohol.
Good polish vodka is the stuff I drink straight up. I'm in the minority probably, but I find Wyborowa makes a special edition vodka which I've always preferred to Grey Goose. Seems to be headache-proof as well, which is always a plus.
Favorite mixed drinks are Rum & Coke and Black Russians. Always use Captain Morgan spiced for the rum mix. I know it's a cheap rum by itself, but it makes the greatest rum and coke. The fine imports, which you don't want to mix anyway, just don't deliver that taste.
Beer has grown on me. As with women, I like all kinds! Blond, brown, red, depends on the moment really. Although good beer can be found anywhere, so far the best ones I've had were in Munich. Did not particularly like the Czech ancestral recipes, nor the monastic Belgium ones many drinkers are fond of.
With food I prefer hot sake to wine. I can't really tell good sake from bad, however!
Part-Time Nomad
Beer - Budweiser and Trout Slayer {though Trout Slayer is more of a light ale}
Liquor - Tequila {straight up or in the mixed drink Tequila Sunrise}
Whiskeys - Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, Rock Rye, Crown Royal, and Southern Comfort
Wines - I'm an avid Wine enthusiast and enjoy many of the grape juices
I'm also a fan of Pure Grain alcohol {though it has been about 5 years now since I've had any}
However, in my aging years and being a single parent, I rarely indulge anymore... Wine with dinner, maybe a night cap of Brandy from time to time depending on the course of the day and how restless I might be feeling...
