A merry apocalypse and happy Armageddon to everybody! Let's see, what other great calamities have not come to pass? Where's my book of Nostradamus.....

How it really happened ...

"Hey.I ran out of space for the calendar on this stone slab.Should I finish it on the back?"
"Nah.Leave it like that. It'll mess with everybody in the future."
"Hahahaha! Yeah, they'll think it's the end of the world or something!"
"Slap my hand with your hand!"

And that was the day the high five was invented.

It's more like:

1. Spanish invade

2. Destroy tomes worth of text in an act of arson

3. Author notices damage and exclaims, "I have to write all that again?! F*#K THAT!"

Mayans still live today and were reported saying that it was just time for them to change the calendar (and that some were more pissed off at being left out of profits from tourism to their native homes in some areas).

Still I kind of expected more of a show on TV and the film industry about this. Not many disaster movies came out at all. Mainly just the news reporting it and changing their predictions (was supposed to be this morning UK time then this afternoon etc.)

I, for one, am slightly disappointed. I mean, I'd put off all my work because I figured that the world wouldn't be around today. Now, I've got a ton of stuff to do.

Yeeeah ... it turns out I gotta pay the rent after all. I guess I should return the Mercedes.
