What the bleep ???

I saw the original when it first made it's way to Seattle. It looks like now they've reissued it (a special edition I think) with a lot of new scenes and information.

Even though I didn't agree with all of it, WAY too much Ramtha for my taste, I found there to be alot of good information that on some level we already know, but gets the old noggin working.

I would suggest giving it a look, especially if your stuck in any kind of rut.
Its laymens approach to quantum physics, the question of consciousness and how we perceive reality, and our physiological link to emotions were well thought out, and delivered in a non judgemental manner. There is a bit of backlash against organized religions, not spiritually or God in general, so that is something to be aware of. But if you get a chance to watch it, it certainly brings lots of lively discussion and a bit of introspection.

As happy side effect, I happened to wander in a used bookshop after the movie and came across 2 great finds. A 1st edition Game of Thrones HB, (going for over 100 bucks for a good condition), and a CHERRY, unread copy of UAKM.

I would if I knew what 'it' was. :?

Did I miss something?

What the "bleep" do we know?

That's the title. It's a documentary where a bunch of half assed scholars disguise theory as fact.

Still sounds interesting to check out.

I'm not saying it's all bad. Some parts were entertaining, some parts believable enough. However, Ramtha....well, check out her web site and then decide.

Apparantly...her real name is JZ Knight, and she is channeling the spirit of Ramtha. Go figure.

I saw the first one. I am a theoretical physicist and I went with two of my friends who are also physics professors. We all agreed that the movie's version of quantum mechanics is way out there in fantasy land.

It's a shame because there actually are some really amazing and weird things about quantum mechanics, but you won't find them in this movie. The physics is way-wrong.

We (my friends and I) all had the impression that the movie was simply proselytizing for some weird New Age religion.
Oh good! Just what we need! Another weird religion! :x

Hey, I was just skimming over the TV schedule for tonight and I noticed that the original "What the Bleep Do We Know?" is on the Encore-drama channel tonight at 9pm eastern time.

I will definitely NOT be watching it. I've seen it before and can't bear to sit through it again. But if you haven't seen it,...it's a lot of New Age nonesense, but interesting, non the less.

If I'm home, I'll probably watch House of Flying Daggers on Encore-action instead. I saw this before, too. It's quite a stunning and beautiful Chinese martial arts movie.
eh, was too melodramatic for my liking Dr. Paul. :D

As for the original "what the bleep do we know". My mum owns it on DVD. I've wanted to see it cause i'm always interested in new viewpoints but yeah, seems a bit new age nonsensey.
I went to the Ramtha website and read through most of the download explaining "The Enlightenment" process. Not wanting to be too negative, here is my assessment: Another philosophy, or religion, or mantra expounding, etc. There were several built-in contradictions (in my opinion) that I found disturbing.

However, people, at least some of them, are always looking for something else, some other way of enlightenment, some new version of thoughts and teachings that have been around for thousands of years. If it works for you - Great! If you are left unfulfilled - great! In other words, you have already seen this info in various forms before; this is really nothing new, just a different way of looking at older ideas.

Interesting side thought, a lot of these "new" philosophers eventually find themselves with "fat" bank accounts associated to and/or the direct result of their new teaching. Again, my opinion and it is not meant to offend anyone. if I did, please accept my apologies and/or sound off in response to thia post. You certainly have the right to do so.
