Hidden object games

Anybody play these? I happen to find them quite entertaining. Course, I still remember Annette Funicello as a Mickey Mouse Club girl. Still, they seem to be a lot of fun and they have some very challenging puzzles. What is your take on these games?
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
Yep...they are fun for a quick distraction or a little time to kill. What are your recent faves?
I've given them a go and they're not really for me. As much as I enjoyed Three Cards... I just find that the genre lacks a certain immersion despite the good story telling that some have. But at their core, the hidden object games are essentially Where's Wally with a narrative interlaced in the gameplay which isn't involving enough when it comes to PC gaming. While they'd be great as mobile games, it's simply not my preferred genre when it comes to story driven games.
Dream Chronicles 2 is rather challenging but very interesting.

Golden Trails 1 & 2

Castle (based on the TV series)

And the Lost Cases of Sherlock Holmes was particularly intriguing.

What about you?
"If you look to me for illumination, you better have a flashlight!"
I like them okay for a bit of a time-killer. But, they don't hold my attention for too long; I think they get a bit repetitive. I played through the Three Cards series, but this was mainly for the story.
I play these games all the time. They pass the time while I wait for a Tex game.

I think the one I enjoy are the Mortimer games.

I have a collection of them, waiting for tex & no adventure games available right now.
I like the mystery case files games. Sometimes you are lucky enough to find a couple with FMV.

I just finished Big City Adventure - London Story and it was rather captivating. A lot of puzzles with searching for numerous clues and some hidden objects. In fact, I found this one to be about half adventure and half hidden object. One of the best I've played and there are several other with the same theme.

I love hidden object games!

Now playing Between the Worlds and it is really a cool game. Must admit, though, I have to go to the website and other sites for some hints cause it can be a bit challenging. But, it is well worth the extra effort.

It's made by Alawar and costs a mere $6.99 for 2 games in one.

This seems like a good thread for people to post their hog recommendations.
Yep! I find them, like others here, an interesting diversion until Tex decides to make a reappearance. I mean, think about it! Tex was a "hidden object" for 15 years until we found him!

I think the best hidden object I've played is dire grove , has a bit of FMV which I like.
I do enjoy playing murder island developed by big finish games.

I am totally with you on that Ms Plumgas, Dire Grove is the only one I have ever finished, it was really good. Otherwise they tend to bore me to tears after a while and I don't really look at one more than once a year...
