Obduction
I know we have some Myst fans in the house, so I just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention that Cyan Inc. has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a new Myst-like game called "Obduction"! If there's one other company after the Big Finish Games crew that I'd love to see make a comeback, it's the folks at Cyan. I can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves!

It finally made it today. We have a couple of more days to hit some stretch goals. They have their first one set for Oculus Rift implication, which doesn't really do anything for me. I can't wait to see what their other goals are, but I'm not sure it will make two (or even three)

Agreed. I think the additional world (a.k.a. more gameplay and story) would've been more appropriate for the $1.3 million stretch goal, alongside the EFIGS localization. I would have liked them to save Occulus Rift support for the $1.7 million goal, bundled with the "Roadtrip Mode." I feel like both of those are more of an extravagance, whereas more gameplay and language support would be closer to "core features."Sowden wrote:They have their first one set for Oculus Rift implication, which doesn't really do anything for me.
But, hey, I'm just excited the game is being made at all!
Well, since closing (successfully) another post-kickStarter blues has hit me! But glad to see another great company be granted the ability to produce some more games to play in the near future!
Was also really good of them to give us a shout-out in their special thanks update! Always good to see the camaraderie in the games industry, especially with developers from the "golden era" of PC gaming!
I think the next few months will show some very interesting positive developments all round! That I am certain.
