Vidphones

I can't get over how cool software like Skype is. I installed it on friday and had a couple of calls with my Uncle in Washington over the weekend. He could show me the weather outside (glorious sunshine) and I could see the family, meet friends that were there and even comment on things like my cousin's earrings.

And best of all, it's free. Vidphones are the future!
Yep, and you know the best thing? Phone sex will never be the same again! :wink:

When I was younger I remember seeing actual video phones. My friend and I would talk about how cool it would be if we both had one so we could talk and see eachother. But I havent seen any actual videophones since. Its all be about the computer. :( sad sad sad :(

Well mobile phones have video phoning on them right? If not in the UK, you can bet Japan do at least.
And the games on Japanese mobile phones aren't just dinky Snake etc. either.
e.g. the Final Fantasy VII prologue game... where you have to take pictures using your phone to collect magic (the strongest colour in the picture determines the kind of magic your character learns) as well as other things.
That game is unlikely to come here yet because mobile phones just aren't up to that level I think here.

I reckon we're not far off playing Solid Snake on mobiles. Japan's phones might already be there.

Cool, I didn't know about that. :) My phone just has stupid Snake, not cool Solid Snake. :lol:
Shows what I know about mobile phones (which is admittedly next to nothing other than what I hear around). Thanks for the tip. :D

It'll probably get to the point where I'll have to buy a better phone just to play some of my favourite series. :roll:

3 do a vidphone service in the uk but there's no decent signal here so no one I know with those phones actually use it for phone calls, but skype apparenlty are planning on free calls on mobiles soon as well.

I just think it's great phoning people and seeing them there.
