Tex Murphy: Tesla Effect on Linux
Any updates on the release date? Are they going to release for Linux and other platforms at the same time, or is Linux being delayed? I thought I read somewhere someone saying the Linux version was going to be delayed, which is sad, but better late than never as they say!
If there is an ETA for the game's release date on other platforms and Linux is to happen later on, is there any estimate about how much later the Linux release would be?
Thanks!

Thanks for the info! Do you happen to have a source from any of the devs about that? Wikipedia still just says "2014" so someone could update that info and link to a source if it's an official one. Plus I'd like to post it on Reddit.Matthew Buckstein wrote:Linux is not going to be available at launch, but no specific timeframe was given. I wouldn't imagine it would a long time after, though.
The release date for PC and Mac is expected to be April, but nothing more firm has been given.
If this turns out to be roughly as good or better than Pandora Directive and the others, this game will definitely be a hit on Linux. It's a very obscure reference though, not a whole lot of gamers now days know about Tex Murphy sadly, but at least nearing launch it will get a lot more visibility.
I hope the Linux release isn't long after the Mac release too, Linux and Mac being pretty similar. I wish they would have decided to have a concurrent release on all platforms at the same time though but oh well, glad it's coming none-the-less!
Very excited, huge TM fan. ^n.n^
The April release was teased in last week's video update right at the end: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBVg_UGFlPM&sns=em
I don't remember where the Linux announcement was made. But it was a few months ago now. There might be something on YouTube about it...

I have no idea, apparently a dog on facebook:Matthew Buckstein wrote:That sounds great, but who exactly is Thayna Kronos?

Hey, another Linux user (and KS backer), here asking questions about a Linux release. If Unity is the engine it shouldn't be too hard to get it out. So I was lead to believe by many KS projects claiming Linux via Unity. I know it often appears that the Linux community is insignificant, but that's what Bill Gates said about Netscape (which became Firefox later....bye bye IE). (Android also coming from Linux remember). The fact GOG FINALLY is getting Linux versions on their portal says something (although it took forever and I was becoming a HumbleBundle Fan) And since the MacOS and Linux have a lot of the same architecture (without FreeBSD the MacOS wouldn't exist) anyway, well...not a big leap. The announce was from an employee at Big Finish Games. Details here

That got me behind this project. Anyway. don't forget us over here. We are fans too.

Would be nice to hear from the devs about the Linux version status!

On the BFG private Blog, there is a message about the Linux version, so if you're wondering you should probably check it out http://www.bigfinishgames.com/blog

If you can't access the Private Blog, here's what it says:
HELLO LINUX USERS
Just a quick note:
The Bink codec is now supported in Linux.
We are just waiting for them to integrate this version with Unity.
They are tentatively planning on having that done by the End of August.
(That date is probably not set in stone...and may still (may likely?) be a little fluid.)
Once Bink integration is complete, we'll need to implement form our side.
I'd like to make a note here: It took many many weeks for our team to actually get Bink working--even after the promised (initial windows) integration.
Just wanted to give you an update.
We haven't forgotten about you.
