Once upon a time, I thought it would be fun to have a tex get-together, like a convention. We talked about having it in Salt Lake and convincing some of the creators to come.
I'm a member of another fan board for Michael Ironside who did the same thing. Mike didn't come, but three or four fans got together in Vegas, met each other for the first time, and had a blast!
Priceline being what it is, it's a pretty affordable option, too...
All we'd need to do is agree on a place and time to do it... Doesn't even have to be a big ol' thing... just a few of us getting together somewhere fun.
Is there any interest for something like that?

That would be good... hwoever, our community spans so internationally that it would be very hard for a lot of memebers to make it along... unless of course some kind of video confrencing system can be set up... where, along with the attendees in person, each internation members will have their own dedicated video screen at the event. I have seen it done before and it works great... unfortunately, it requires a heavy set up cost... perhaps the Access boys can help out.

The closest thing I can see happening would be, as Cub mentioned, something like a live multiple webcast with everyone who can't make it to Mecca (Salt Lake City), transmitting their physical appearance via a webcam. I'm not sure how many could afford that, let alone the time/money to attend.

Ooo San Francisco would be fun! But Salt Lake probably makes more sense. I got to go to San Fran this year and got so excited because I was on Lombard Street... heh.
Yeah I do remember talking about a webcast... We could maybe work that out, or do one of those live typing sessions... Or broadcast it with a video camera (I got access to fun stuff there).
But yeah just getting a few folks together and seeing if the MicroAccess folks could come too would be awesome. Maybe stalk them on their lunch break?

The webcast option is little better than a chat session. If that's what we do, at least maybe we could have (at least) three locations. The Aussies could get together, the Euro and Asian folks could get together, and we Americans could meet in Salt Lake City.

Well I've got a webcam now, so a webcast would be easy enough and probably easier for most of us than flying half way round the world for a drink.
But I could possibly do Salt Lake or San Fran too.
As for Cindy Vs comment on Lombard Street, I keep forgetting that there's on in London too, in the City. Everytime I head that way I see the sign to Lombard Street and smile to myself. Sadly no Coit tower though.
