The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

A brand new upcoming first person adventure title on the Unreal 3 Engine. Looks incredible. Imagine if Big Finish had the budget to do their follow-up like this:

I'm going to pre-order, this looks amazing.

Don't tease me with such hopes
Thanks so much for the link Joel. I read almost everything on the site.

Obviously, it looks like a very enticing game. The fact that they're using photogrammetry to create the basic models of many objects in the game (from rocks to churches) is really interesting.

The article on 'The Seven Deadly Sins of Adventure Games' is thought provoking.

The quality of writing on the site (i.e. the grammar, phrasing, punctuation, etc.) is outstanding. It took me a while to realize these guys are Polish, which only doubled my admiration for the writing. I found the articles a pleasure to read, and sent them a message saying so.

BTW, where are you pre-ordering the game?

Nowhere yet. It's not available for pre-order at all for now (whether that be retail or digital download). But I will order when it becomes available. Great year for gaming;

- Wolfenstein

- Tex

- Ethan Carter

- Watch Dogs? (i don't have this one yet, i've read mixed reviews but i'm hoping it will be good)

- Broken Sword 5
Ok, a ton of updates. First of all, a gameplay video:

Also, the page for the game is now up on STEAM with pre-order option. $20.00. Do it now!

DONE!!
I took a minute to watch a couple of posted videos about this game. It apears to be more cerebral and casual than most games made these days. It's on GOG for preorder too and I've put it on my wish list now. Currently, I've too many irons in the fire to be gunning to buy this one just yet. But I'm definitely interested.

There just isn't enough games targeted for adults that are brain-muscle stretchers. Rather disappointing to know most adults would rather randomly shoot targets or pretend to be bowling than use their brains.

But what do I know....
One Mean, Green-Eyed Fitch.
When I saw the gameplay video with the investigation mechanics, I immediately thought of how good that would be in a Tex Murphy game. This already feels more involved than L.A Noire. I hope it delivers.
Agreed. I saw a number of what I found to be new, and novel, ways to interact with a game. The non-linear gameplay is very interesting too.
although this may look good, don't think its a game for everybody. reminds me of gone home a bit as when you find an object you get the memory.
