I was curious are you located near the ocean or further inland towards the continent? Might seem dumb to ask, but I've been keeping up with the latest Icelandic volcano issue, Bárðarbunga. According to what I read, back about 230 years ago, global effects were felt from an eruption there. The new problem is, apparently, much much bigger in scale of problematic. So, have you heard anything about this and, if so, what does Norwegian media have to say?

According to Google Maps I'm fairly near the ocean. However I live on the other side of Norway from the western coast, and probably wouldn't really be much bothered by anything going on over on Iceland.

Or, if we do feel any of the effects, there are people living other places in Norway which would get it much worse than I. To say nothing of the Icelanders.

For instance, when Eyjafjallajökull had a hissy fit a couple of years back, we didn't even get a whiff of ash. Britain got the worst of that one.

I sincerely doubt it'll be anything remotely noticable over here if this one decides to blow it's top.

Fun fact - did you know that when Eyjafjallajökull blew smoke up everyone's butt back in 2010 and disrupted air traffic for six days straight over a large area of Europe, even though it spewed something like three million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, it was still more environmentally friendly than letting air traffic continue as normal? In fact, delaying air traffic on that scale for that duration was a huge boon for the environment. Weird, innit?

Awesome. No, I didn't know your facts and I find it interesting what you've said about Europe. But hey, at least you've a head's up if something went seriously haywire.

Well, the only thing to do in a situation when everything is purportedly going haywire, is apparently to download the backup system. Otherwise, the place will ostensibly go up like a roman candle on the fourth of july.

In fact, here's a crazy question. Listed alphabetically, do you know how many fjords there are on the long list of Norwegian fjords before you get to the one I live near by?
