Christmas Detective

Hey all. Thought this would be somewhat pertinent to Tex Murphy as it gets a nod in his direction. I bought a girl's detective kit for my daughter from Scholastics and am beffing it up with a few things from local stores (awesome sunglasses with spray on mirror so you can see behind you!). I've got a women's XS trenchcoat coming that should fit her -- she's almost my height now. All that's left is a really cool fedora and a nerf handgun. She will be ready to take on anything, courtesy of Santa Clause, of course. :)

Notepad and pen to write any important things down?

Maybe some lemon juice and a brush to write secret messages (don't they show up when you warm the page? I can't remember but there's a trick in there somewhere)

Yes, write message in lemon juice. It becomes invisible when dry. Heat it gently over a candle, or similar, to cause the lemon juiced areas to turn brown.
I actually found a kit with invisible ink and paper. Probably more in it, but I didn't want to break the seal on it. Got a smallish fedora too. I still have to paint up the nerf gun. Grandparents are coming by today to take the kids oout for a bit, so I'll have time to paint it today. Can not wait for her to open this one!!
