I am pumped!!

I had UAKM for ages. I'd never got a chance to finish the game, and then software upgraded and I couldn't use it for years. I've moved twice and always kept my copy with me in the hopes that *some day* I could use it. I didn't really think I could ever play it again, but I couldn't bear to give up on it! It was one of my all-time favorite games, and I'm not one of those hard-core gamers. I only played a few games.

Well, I was finally informed of dosbox, and I loaded it all on my computer - and it worked!!! I'm so happy!

So here I am, a happy fan, and I'm just saying hello to you all. :D

(anyone else here with me - should Tex Murphy be remade?! Keep the sarcastic wit, and the lovable characters - but pump up the virtual world and graphics!!)

And ditto from me as well. You'll find yourself in the good company and spirits of the brotherhood of Tex here, as well as insider-information straight from the sources themselves. All-around easily the best place for anything Tex Murphy.

Welcome :)

Welcome. Have fun and enjoy the life.

But as for re-making Tex? Hopefully not. Never try to re-capture the light. Create new and go forth.

Again, welcome.

Heh.. well there was more than one Tex game to begine with - new stories can definitely be created! Why create a brand new p.i. noir crime game when there's great material to work with?!

I guess I jus wanna relive the old days, but with today's tech.

I'm all with you. I'm trying to round up some serious minds in this forum. I'm a amateur game developer / 3d modeler myself. Anything is possible with the permission and/or help from the original TM boys...

I don't mean to sound like the pessimistic sod here, becuase I too am all for a community based project... but over the years of being in this community I have seen many plans come, and go. These things not only require an idea, but un-paralelled devotion. And for something that is worked on between real-life committments by a number of folks who often live very far away from one another it always proves very hard to do.

But hey, maybe I am just speaking for myself here.

I'm a modeller and animator myself. (Or getting there, anyway :D ) I've always loved the TM titles and that whole world and genre, and would love to work on something like that. But cub is right - it takes a heckuva lot more than being a fan to make this work. It would require lots of resources and dedication at the very least.

I'd like to work on this, but I wouldn't call it work if I wasn't getting paid....
