Is this thing still on?

Hey everyone…
It’s been a long time—eleven years, give or take. Life moved on, and most of us drifted to Facebook or elsewhere, but I still think about this place. The late-night threads. The dumb jokes. The surprisingly deep conversations. The Tex fandom that in some cases turned into real friendships.
I miss it.
So I thought I’d dust off the ol’ password and post. No agenda—just a ping into the void. If you’re reading this… maybe say hi? Maybe post something, anything, just like the old days?
Let’s see if we can bring this place back to life.
Who all is excited for AC's upcoming interactive adventure or the pending UAKM remaster?!

Good to see you here, Bjørn! I'll keep 'er up and running as long as anyone wants to stop by now and again.

I'm still here! Still loving Tex. I've been here since the beginning (mostly lurking). Even had a geocities site in the tex Murphy Web ring!
I'm currently helping with the soundtrack for the uakm remake so I'll probably be making more noise in the near future.

Have you read the novels? They're most excellent. Plus, Aaron's about to release a new "choose your own adventure" style book entitled "Tex Murphy and the Steakhouse Stakeout", which not only feels feels like a Tex Murphy game as far as choices are concerned, but revisits some old familiar characters. It's pretty darn impressive, and there are so many ways the story can go, leading to 70 different endings depending on your choices, but with only one true ending. I was fortunate enough to proof-read it, and it's very thorough and well thought out and should be just enough to scratch your tex-itch.

I'm still here as well. I don't do Facebook so I've long lost where everyone and the action is. I still check in here from time to time in the hopes that people suddenly come back, but thus far have not.
I have all the books too, and the Steakhouse Stakeout has me interested purely for its name alone. Seeing as that's already a win I'm sure everything will all be the icing on the cake.
I hope this forum sticks around forever. It'll be a sad day when it's only viewable in the Internet Archive. (Oh and it gets a little more active.) Glad to see other people still checking in from time to time!
EDIT: I just realized that it's officially been 20 years since I signed up for this forum when we migrated from the last one! Time flies!

Hey ho guys. I saw the news of the new book coming out and I thought I would stop by. A Tex Murphy choose your own adventure book!? How perfect is that to the style of how Pandora, and to an extent, Overseer was? And you wanna hear something nuts? I remember, far back in the day, say late 2000's/early 2010's. I mentioned on here that the only FMV Tex game I didn't own was Overseer. So there was a guy on here, his username was Overseer, He was from Russia. He offered to sent me burnt copies of the game, and mailed them over to me. I was just going through some old boxes last month and I found them. What I magical place this form is. But anyway, I just wanted to stop by. I never say much of anything anyway. Later.

Just dropped by to see if this place was still active.
I really hope another game is released, I was excited to hear the news a few years ago about Poisoned Pawn but then it was canceled. I’ve since heard news about a remake but that too seems in limbo now, and with everyone getting older I’m loosing hope.
Anyways, I’ve been a fan of TM since the UAKM days when I saw my friend play it back in the mid 90’s. I never had the chance to play it so last year I dusted off my 386 PC and thought I’d start from the beginning with Mean Streets as I’d never played it!
Yes…. I’m aware of GOG and while I own all the TM games there, if you’re going to do experience something, it may as well be th original experience lol.
Mean Streets and Martian were a bit of a chore to get through, mainly because of the constant gun fights whenever you arrive somewhere, but I guess that’s the OG experience. I’m glad after… 35? years I finally beat those 2 games and have the backstory to Tex.
Next up is UAKM which I’ve also never beat, so I fired up my original Pentium PC and started that game last month. I remember sitting for hours watching my friend play his copy, but I have to admit 25+ years later using the mouse to move forward isn’t my favorite method for moving around. I wish there was a hack to use WASD keys. Oh well.
When I’m done with UAKM, I’m going to play Pandora and the Overseer.
I’ve actually only made it 1/2 way through Tesla Effect so that’ll be last and good to have the full Tex history going into it.
Kinda wild I’m experience these games mostly for the first time after 30+ years, and wish I’d been deeper into the community.
I actually WAS a backer for the Tesla Effect Kickstarter, in part because of all the good memories I had watching my friend play UAKM. If another kickstarter happened I’d get behind that too. Whe Tesla Effect was released back in 2014? I downloaded it asap but life got in the way.
Keep these forums going!
