Speaking of the fact that none of us are getting any younger

While reading AC's update on where they're at I suddenly had a clear vision of what the next Tex game might have to look like. Did any of you ever watch Farewell, My Lovely (1975, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072973/)? It's the best adaptation of one of Chandlers Marlowe novels, to the big screen (if you ask me). FML stars Robert Mitchum as Philip Marlowe. Mitchum at the time in his late 50's. While it does feel strange at first to have such an old Marlowe, it works just great.

To help you see what I see take a look at the picture below (from the first scene in the movie). Imagine it's Tex standing there looking out the window onto the street, fedora on his head, cigarette in his mouth, a glass of bourbon in his hand, and saying what Mitchum says (through voice-overs, look below for quote).

"This past spring was that first that I felt tired and realized I was growing old. Maybe it was the rotten weather we'd had in LA. Maybe it was the rotten cases I'd had. Mostly chasing a few missing husbands, and then chasing their wifes once I found them in order to get paid. Or maybe it's just the plain fact that I am tired, and growing old."

Can you hear it? It's Tex speaking, through Mitchum.
There was another excellent version of Marlowe. In 1969, James Garner starred as the infamous detective and the movie was way above average. Go here to see more: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064638/

That was the storyline featured in "Phillip Marlowe: Private Eye." A production for the PC by Simon & Schulster. Fantastic company, if you ask me. Love their star trek stuff.
