Saw Blue Öyster Cult in Chicago, and I got Roger Waters(Pink Floyd), Zappa plays Zappa, and Alice Cooper lined up to finish off the year. Not to mention going to new york to see Late Night w/ David Letterman. You're all in my hearts.

Reminds me of my concert-going days in the mid to late '70's. . . Elton John (with only his drummer and bassist), Brewer & Shipley, James Taylor, Livingstion Taylor, Seals and Crofts, Stephen Stills, . . .

Isn't 'Blue Oyster' that gay bar in Police Academy with all those guys in tight leather where Captain Harris and co keep ending up 'accidentally'?

Might as well chime in. I remember when those bands first came out. In fact, I remember when Hound Dog first came out. The 50's and 60's were a great time for music in the good ol' USA.

Tell us something about that time.
Some advice about a music? I must "fill up" my MP3 player with remaining 9 Gb...so...
it's a really
eclectic player for any occasion.LOL.

O maybe I'll try to assemble some kind of "Tex Murphy's tracklist".

From one old guy to another, I totally agree. The 50's and early 60's were were my favorite music era, by far. I remember seeing Elvis on Ed Sullivan in 55? (I also saw him live at the Olympia in 'sixtyeight).
Music was so different then. More wholesome, more musical. The industry was smaller, and much less corporate. Big names would play at highschools and local nightclubs (like the Grande and the Roostertail) instead of stadiums.
