When I tried to visit Wanda Peck, Sonny Fletcher and the Big Surf Lodge I received several "file error" messages. The game allowed me to do the "ask about" and "End conversation", but I got no video (and I really like looking at Wanda Peck - for security reasons, of course). The winfix download helped me to play the game, but I still get these dog-gone error messages!

It looks like you need to install the DVD Express patch, though I don't think I have it now. I'm sure someone else here has it and is willing to share it. You are using the DVD version right?

Um, actually, I was using the CDs. I'll try the DVD and let you know whether it works. Thanks for all your help.

OK, good news, bad news. The game is playing fine and I get no error messages. Bad news: I get no video either, no conversations, no fight with Slade, etc. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming you installed the DVD express patch already, which is about 20 megabytes to download. If you haven't I'm sure somebody here can give you a link to it; my web space isn't large enough to share it. If you have, and Overseer still doesn't work, then download this file and run it the same way you ran the xp_fix file. I can't guarantee anything though.

Well, I downloaded and ran all the patches and programs and I still get "file errors" by the dozens. Although I finished the game using the DVD version, I decided to try the game using the CD version. It started out better to the point of my first visit with Wanda Peck and Sonny Fletcher. I was able to watch all the video involved (couldn't before). However, I'm now getting tons of file errors and file not found. I'm really getting frustrated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
