Back from the Shadows

Well it has been a long time since I have been on the board, but I have returned. My last real appearance on the board was when I was living in my car to complete my college placement back in May. Since that time I have had an extremely bad time finding money just to survive. As it turns out when you borrow money, people generally want it back. Well to save a lot of pointless explanation I will sum up. I owe a lot of money and it isn’t going away anytime soon. Despite the lack of funds, I have however managed to get back to a regular living lifestyle including an apartment, electricity and internet! WOO HOO! I have successfully pulled myself from the gutter and returned to an average broke college grad lifestyle!
Alright enough of the boring stuff and down to business. Back in May I was in the process of shooting a very Tex inspired PI drama for one of my final projects. I had asked the board if anyone was interested doing an original score for the project and then a series of oddities befell me from then on. eg. something was growing in my eye and nearly blinded me, which would not have been a great thing seeing as I have graduated in a visual field. (When they say take out your contact lenses nightly they REALLY mean it.) Where was I? Oh right the score, anyway in all this time the computers I was working on at the college had been wiped out and I have since lost all my work on it. I do however have all the original footage but just don’t have the heart to completely remake the entire project. As I do not want the project to completely die I have instead decided to turn it into a trailer and put it on my demo reel. NOW having said all of that I am just curious if anyone is still interested in making music for the trailer. I remember St. Vivus had expressed some interest and I remember liking his work and was wondering if he was still interested? I am in the process of copying the video to a format that I can use on my studio equipment at home and hope to have it completed soon. If anyone is interested I can send them the final trailer and they can have at it.
As for what is going on right now I am in the process of completing 2 short films and the pilot for a television show. Which I must admit is extremely difficult when you have no money to produce anything however not impossible when you have free access to all the equipment to do so. I LOVE volunteers! As for the future I will be returning to school in the fall and will heed Cubase’s advice and snag up another diploma in film. (Seeing the pics of your latest production gave me a little inspiration to get up and do something) Things are kind of up in the air right now but the future looks bright, I just wanted to thank all those that expressed concern but as you can see I am alive and well. Not to mention moderately financially sound. (I can buy groceries again! YAY Talk about starving artist.) I hope to be visiting the board more often with the latest Tex-happenings and keep everyone on the up and up as to what is happening on my end. Here’s to a productive 2007. Cheers!
