Tex Murphy - Wii Adventures

Seeing as there is not a new Tex game on the horizon, would anyone like to see a port of the game on the Nintendo Wii? No it's not in development or anything I would just think that it would be cool to see all the games ported over to Nintendo's happy little system. The interface would totally work as it is mouse-like and probably each game could be stored on one disc so no pesky disk swapping. I think it would be an awesome idea and I would buy the games all over again just for that experience. Does anyone else agree or am I just talking out my butt here?

I dont see any problem with it as long as it came out for the PC too. I used to be a console man, but over the past year or so I have found it increasingly hard to sit down and play on one of those things. The PC is mmmm.

Sounds great to me. I'm not sure enough about how the Wii works, but I wonder if there is a way you could essentially "become" Tex in the VR environment - as far as walking, anyway. I'm sure you would be able to spin around and reach for things, but I would like to see that coupled with forward and reverse motion. That would be something else!

Hmm interesting
the first thing that springs to my mind is the chene where tex get his gun and starty playing cops and robbers and well drops his gun out of the window. HIHI
would be a grand and novel idee to walk thought the gameworld with the wii and interact with items hmmm.

With all the complaints by people accidentally throwing their Wii controller and suffering accidents I imagine most would end up chucking the gun out the window

I have played on a Wii myself seeing as how my brother owns one and I would say that those people that have thrown a Wii controller into the TV or elsewhere they must clearly not have used the strap that comes with the controller. If they use the strap around the wrist, they would need a lot of throwing power in order to break off the strap AND have the controller slip out of their hand. A typical case of being too rough and clumsy with their stuff
Anyway ... Tex Murphy on the Wii ... yeah, that would be interesting. I could imagine the movement around the 3D-environment could be done using the controller when rotated 90 degrees and using the up/down/left/right arrow keys ... buttons 1 and 2 could be used to crouch down or jump ... and inside the game could be certain mini games / puzzles where certain movements were required where one could really use the controller the way it should be used. For example a shooting scene where you would have to aim correctly using the controller and shoot with the B-button (the trigger-button when holding the controller upright - check photo below and see the button on the far right which is located in the bottom of the controller)
Wouldn't that be interesting?
