you know, i thought the idea of 24 was really really awesome when it first came out. When the first season hit DVD, i thought i'd give it a go. Everything seemed to be moving along pretty nicely until about halfway through the season, one of the characters gets amnesia. I instantly returned the DVDs i rented from the university library and have never looked back. =/
For me, the big new show of this season was Californication. Pushing Daises was pretty neat too. However due to my limited bandwidth being down here in Australia, i reserve my download for 2 old but true staples of television. The Simpsons and Saturday Night Live

So, because a character got temporary amnesia, you didn't watch the rest of the season? So, basically, you missed one of the greatest season finales I've ever seen because of a "tv cliche"?

I just got the Fraggle Rock Series... I loved that show when I was a kid... Got it so my son could watch... Something tells me that he isn't going to like it like I did though...

adnins, yeah. It was the way it was done coming after what just had happened which led me to really dislike the series. It felt like they had blown their season's idea in half a season and now were trying really hard to stretch it out. The amnesia was the last straw so to speak.
I've heard about at least part of that season's finale and i gotta say, that probably would have made me angrier, if the way they pulled off mid season is any indication ><
Also Fred, you have made yourself a purchase you shall not regret! Viva la Futurama!

you're entitled to your opinion...but just so you know, you missed out on a great season. 1st season still ranks out of the 6 as probably the top 2 or 3. Last season was very good. All I'm saying, is you really should go back and give it more of a chance than what ya did. But, that's my 10 seconds on the soap box....

I watched the first season..it was good, but didn't make me wanna watch it each week like my life depended on it. There have only been a handful of shows that are like that for me. I never watched Band of Brothers on HBO (partly because I never had HBO), but if I had subscribed to that channel, Band of Brothers would have been one of those series that I couldn't wait until the next one was aired.

You can buy Band of Brothers for like 40 bucks now... It was worth watching, but it was never meant to be an ongoing series...
I am such a Leary fan... I love Rescue Me, but like 24 it is not in the top spots so it like 24 won't becoming back this year...

I've already seen Band of Brothers...bought it for my father about 6 years back....I know it wasn't meant to be an ongoing series, but it was a short HBO series that would have made me plan to watch it if I had subscribed to HBO back when it first ran. Which goes back to my whole point..there aren't that many shows on TV that have that affect on me...Heroes and 24 are the only current, active shows that do that for me. Daybreak was one of those shows and What About Brian? was another one of those shows, but as for now...there aren't any.
24 will be back next season at it's usual January start time (barring any new writers strike) and it will dominate like it always does in the 8 cst slot after American idol.

I didn't watch BOB when it was on HBO even though I've always had HBO... I didn't watch it until I saw the History Channel running a Marathon on it... So I watch a Couple of episodes and said "Hey, That looks pretty good." So I looked it up online and realized that I could go buy it... So I did...
Shows that I watch... Some of these are because the Wife watches it, so I just sit through it...
Regular Season:
Desperate Housewives
Heroes
NCIS
House
Criminal Minds
Grey's Anatomy
ER
Numbers
Summer Season:
Rescue Me
Other Shows: {some are repeats}
George Lopez
Home Improvement
Married With Children
Ninja Warrior
Unbeatable Banzuke
I think that is all of them... Keep in mind, most of these I watch while going through Paperwork at night... Some of these shows don't come on until late night also...

Not in the least. Torture, those who torture and stories that celebrate torture may give Jackson Cross goose-bumps but not me. I'd rather watch a woman and a man kissing, sucking and making love than to watch people being blown away.
The world of TV in USA needs to get back to its roots of drugs, sex and rock and roll.
I am a fan of those who 'fight the power.' Give me Tex any time.
