The reason a lot of people are getting upset is because the current Health Insurance Companies are paying people, such as political strategists, to tell the American People that once this Health Bill is passed all of your medical decisions are going to have to go through a government official of one kind or another... Which is complete bullshit...

The reason the Health Insurance Companies are doing this is because once the Government System is in place the Private Insurance Companies are going to be Forced to lower their prices otherwise they will begin to lose customers and money...
And like the Oil Companies, they don't want to do this... So they pay people to stir the public up into believing that all your medical decisions will be made by a politician and not your doctor... Again, Complete Bullshit...

Just like the Oil Companies pay these Speculators to say this and that allowing them to raise the price of Oil and Gasoline while making us think that it is necessary because the Speculators told us it is... Meanwhile they are making record breaking profits every quarter...
So tell me this, if the price of Oil and everything is up causing them to raising our prices just so they can afford to refine the material and whatnot, how is it that they are making these outrageous profits??? I'll tell you, because just like the Health Care "Rumors", it is all Complete Bullshit...

Will a few things change in the Health Care system??? Of course... Will it doom people to death... Absolutely Not...

And another thing... This Health Care is going to Benefit people like Cub, he'll be coming to the US to try and succeed in his chosen profession, but while he is trying to get established he probably won't have Health Care... That is where the Government Plan will come in to help him out... So he doesn't need to fear going to the Hospital for whatever reason and being taken for everything he's worth just to a few tests and a diagnosis for his illness...

*** Disclaimer --- I just want to go on record and say, Cub I was merely using you as an example and in no way wish illness upon you or your mate shortly after your arrival here in the States... On the Contrary, I wish you good health and long life...

..........................................................................................
Here is my view after President Obama signed Health Care Act passed into law a few days ago….

I am okay with most of benefits that will help millions of Americans….BUT.

1 thing I do NOT like and I HOPE IT GETS REVOKE…ASAP!!!

MANDATE OF FORCING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO GET HEALTH INSURANCE OR ELSE GO TO JAIL

I know Attorney Generals in 13 states and so forth filed a law suit after President Obama passed this Health Care into law.

MANDATE or FORCING PEOPLE should be removing from law or banned. The Government should NOT force the American people or else Government will see a nasty hit by the voters in upcoming election of November of 2010.

I am okay with the rest of benefits but I do not APPROVED of this Mandate (Forcing American People) to get Health Care coverage or else you go to jail and pay fines and if you are expecting refund from IRS (2011 of next year-example) and you do not have Health Insurance they will revoke your refund and use that refund you are suppose to get will be taking away to pay the penalty fines for not having health insurance coverage.

1-If you DO NOT buy a qualifying Health Insurance plan then YOU will get penalties for failing to comply with mandates set forth. I know this is unconstitutional abuses of power by FORCING the American people to buy Health Insurance or YOUR ASS WILL BE GOING TO JAIL TO UP TO WHATEVER IT IS AND PAY THE PENALIZE OF WHATEVER THE $$$ you must pay for not having HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE

b/c there are many many many reasons why people don't want Health Insurance and so forth.

1-you don’t make enough $$$ to pay bills on time

2- you trying to stay within budget for family and yourself

3- Health Insurance companies will CRASH due to high premiums/taxes they have to pay and will increase Premiums BIG TIME since President Obama sign passed into law, right?

4-WHAT HAPPEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A JOB AND STILL TRYING? WHERE AND HOW THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO GET HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE since President Obama signed this Health Care into law recently. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE $$$$$$$$$? How will THIS WORK? You dont have $$$ to buy health insurance since you do not have a job.

Maybe you Jim The Old Guy can explain is if THIS can be CHANGE, right?

President Obama Health Care plan he passed into law can be REVERSE like getting rid of mandate if We The People vote to remove federal mandate law that force people to get insurance or go to jail.. We can REMOVE the law Obama signed, right, or Congress?

I have Health Insurance Coverage but the Premiums keep going up…pathetic though.
the higher it is the less $$$ i receive from my paycheck.

Nice post, Ryan. Jim TOG can't explain what day it is let alone the health bill. j/k

Yeah, there is something wrong with forcing people to buy health insurance or else go to jail. Then again, 1984 has come - just 26 years later, if you catch my drift.

????????

To dcat.....

An extra $700 bucks??? Are you serious???????

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

Our group plan is something like $850 for an entire year.

I can't believe that they actually charge that much... I had no idea the American Health system was that broken.

Usually our group plans coordinate with our provincial government plans which is funded by our taxes.

I think you can relax Ryan... I have a feeling that part of the Law will be enforced about as much as the "Pay Child Support Or Go To Jail" law is enforced...
There are people who owe Thousands of dollars in Child Support but aren't even harassed by the law much less behind bars...

It's there to Scare people into doing what they want done in the first place...

Chances are, if you can't afford Health Insurance you are either already on a Government Program or you at least Qualify for a Government Program and just need to go through the steps of getting on it...

As for the Private companies, they are raising their rates now as much as they can before this Health Care Bill takes effect so they can make as much money as possible, because they know once the Bill is active they are going to need to lower their premiums to keep their current customers and remain in business...

Yea, Lestat, I'm afraid so. My firm is looking for a better group rate, but if things stand, it will be about $22,000 a year for my family's premiums. I'd like to say that it is so expensive because it is a "Cadillac" plan, but I think the plan we have is pretty run-of-the-mill.

Yeah Dcat that's a terrible disparity. I work for a large company so they can broker a deal for cheaper insurance. The company pays 5400 a year for me and I pay 250 a year. I think if I had the family plan the cost would be 2-3 times more.

That's one of the big problems. Unless you've got a huge block of subscribers, you can't get a good deal on health insurance. Which is pretty crappy because that means they could be selling the insurance for cheaper if they wanted.
