I've heard it from a couple of people that Seagate drives fail a lot.
very interesting read cub, I have been using the seagate in the past but now I am using samsung spin point. A very quiet drive.
seems the manufacturers state most of problems are from users.
I had one drive go on an old hp pc at work & 1 seagate I had in a pc that I gave a friend. the disk that went was the win 98 disk which was odd as it was hardly used.
I think the trick is to create a few copies of the backups on external media.
