Oh yes, "Leaving Hope" ... 5 minute song with no lyrics, and probably one of the most beautiful songs ever made. Whenever Reznor gets on a piano, you get entranced. But with Leaving Hope, you can get tears in your eyes and make it the soundtrack to any gut wrenching, heartbreaking event of your life. Then you could turn around and make it the soundtrack for your most loving beautiful moment as well.
I always loved "The Frail" too, as well as "The Mark has been Made". I remember when I first heard "The Mark has been Made", I kept saying it would be awesome to use this in a movie soundtrack. When I watched "Man on Fire", I literally was fired up in all the scenes the music was used. Simply awesome. Then there is the "300" preview that featured "Just Like you imagined" ... singlehandedly made me watch the movie.
Oh, and the live version of "Gave Up" I should say that's probably my third favorite. For some odd reason, I always preferred the live version to the original. Still have the original DVD of the performance. It's one of the few DVDs I still have that has lived a long life. (few friends ever wanted to borrow that one you understand.) I love all the electronic parts seem to just sound richer, or something, I don't know what it is.
