I saw the new Adam Sandler movie You Don't Mess With Zohan last night.
I expect a certain level of crude humor from Sandler, but this one was little over the top for me.
There were a few basic themes throughout the whole movie.
1. Male genitalia and buttocks humor.
2. Sandler having sex with one old lady after another. (I'm talking 70 and 80 year old ladies.)
3. Stereotyping and insulting everybody. While writing the script there must have been a conversation like, "Who haven't we insulted yet? We've still got half an hour to fill. Who else can we insult?"
I was disappointed, but maybe it's exactly what Sandler fans look for.

I saw a trailer for The X-Files movie when I went to see The happening a few days ago.
I am sorry to say that I was disappointed in The Happening. With regards to The X-Files preview, the most stricking thing to me was than Scully has a new look. Well, a new do, anyway. I hardly recognized her.
---
Since I last posted, I also saw Son of Ranbow. An English movie about some kids making a Rambo movie for a Screen Test contest.
---
Also, one of our local theaters showed Alien (The director's cut) at their Midnight Madness series. The Big screen is the best way to see Alien. There were some additional scenes that were cut from the original theatrical release.

I saw The Happening as well. Decent enough film while I was watching it, but walking away from the cinemas after seeing it I asked myself "what have I walked away with"... I could muster a big fat nothing.
Zohan looked funny enough from the trailers... but I too hate genital humour and films that poke fun at cultures just for the sake of poking fun at cultures. So you can poke fun at the quirks cultural minorities... big deal.
As for the X-Files trailer, missed out on seeing it... but I heard Scully STILL does not believe... I mean come on! It's getting beyond the joke now.

She tried to believe when Mulder was gone, but it was always a stretch for her.

apparently being abducted first hand, seeing aliens first hand, getting the truth revealed to her first hand from the cancer man, and a zillion other obvious encounters are still not enough information for her. How the hell did she get a frikken badge!?

I just got back from the new Hulk movie. Pretty cool. This time, the "after the credits" scene appears *before* the credits - so you don't have to wait them out if you don't want to.
For people that have already seen Iron Man, the last scene in the Hulk is a real treat. If you haven't seen Iron Man, it might not make sense.
Also, for people who are fans of the old Hulk TV show, there were some nice cameos. There's a scene with Bill Bixby as Eddie's Father (scene from The Courtship of Eddie's Father.) Bill Bixby played the Bruce Banner character in the Hulk TV series.
Also, Lou Ferrigno had a cameo as a security guard who gets bribed with some pizza. Lou was the Hulk himself in the TV series.

I saw a trailer for a movie called City of Ember. Here's a like to the trailer:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970411/tra ... 4075028761
From the trailer, I thought the movie looks a lot like a Myst-style adventure game. Looks very interesting.

Not exactly a Movie, but I just watched that Comedy Special of Richard Jeni, A Big Steaming Pile Of Me... He is/was a Funny Guy... Sad when Talented People like that Kill Themselves...
Sad when Anyone kills themselves... It's kind of confusing sometimes when a Successful person does it though... Doctors say he suffered from Manic Depression though and his Girlfriend said that she didn't think he had been taking his Meds...
But I still think he was funny as hell...
Speaking of Comedians, I recently watched Lewis Black's Special, Red, White, & Screwed... He's funny as hell too...

I went to see Grindhouse at a local theater's midnight madness show last night.
Grindhouse was a 2007 double-feature by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The idea was to make two b-movies and present them in the Saturday Matinee double feature style of the 1950's - including fake scratchy, broken film, missing reels, and great fake previews before and between the two films.
Although you can get each individual film (Planet Terror or Death Proof) on DVD, the theater presentation (double-feature with previews) is only available in theaters.
Anyway, it's a lot of fun. Takes me back to the good ol' days. I don't think DVDs can do this duo justice. So if you haven't already seen it at the theaters, keep an eye out for special theatrical showings.
If you've already seen it at the theater, you know what I'm talking about.

Spoiler for Death Proof, if you haven't seen it, don't read...
I didn't care for the Planet Terror, but I liked the Death Proof... I thought it was funny as hell when Kurt Russell started losing at the end of Death Proof and was whining like a little girl...
His car on the other hand was Awesome, I loved that car...

But I've seen it, though. And yes, I liked it.

Last I heard, Rob Zombie was going to go ahead and make Werewolf Women of the SS, the fake movie he made a trailer for for the Grindhouse double feature.
I love the idea of well made fake B-movies.

Bought American Psycho at wal-mart for $5 and finally watched it for the first time. Patrick Bateman is easily one of the most f@!$%d up characters I have ever seen in a film. Christian Bale is an excellent actor and can't wait for the Dark Knight to open up. Heath Ledger looks amazing as the Joker.

Saw "The Strangers" last night at the Drive In... It was a very Strange Movie... I know it was based on True Events, so I guess you can't expect the Imagination to lead the way, but I'm sure they could have spiced it up some how... Anyway, since it is New, I won't say a whole lot about it, so that it doesn't ruin it for anyone else... I wouldn't waste a lot of money to see this though, if I were you, that's all I say... It's worth watching, just not worth spending a bunch of money on...
Going to watch a Double Feature tonight... Kung Fu Panda and The Hulk... I'll let you know what I think about them later tonight or tomorrow...
