Aaron, I can provide witty humor and can cook food for you on those long nights when you guys are burning the midnight oil to get things done. That's about all I can contribute.

Aaron and Chris....you guys just made the the past 5 year wait worth every boring minute (or was it 10 years already?)

Anyway James, in all seriousness, I'm familiar with HTML and the web...but I couldn't create a user friendly whiz-bang website if tried. However I can contribute expertise in Java, JSP, SQL, Perl, and general J2EE back-end programming if you need any of it. Let me know.

As for the hosting, I'm thinking you'll need a few bucks for that. I and others I'm sure are willing to sacrifice a few weeks worth of Starbucks Latte's to indirectly help Tex live on.

-------

NOW, as for everyone else that posted in this thread. Please, please, please don't toss in the towel because you not know how to do website work......we are the vast (ok maybe a slight over-statement) unpaid viral hype machine. AC needs some buzz, this is where each of us can contribute regardless if you are a computer programming geek or not.

I'm sure that 90% of us either:
A) Listen to podcasts
or
B) visit the major gaming websites and forums

This is where we can generate some buzz. (That is once we get a name/genre of the game).
Forums at gamesradar.com, ign.com, gamespot would be a great place to start.

As for podcasts....and James please pass this along to AC/CJ.....how incredible would it be if they did a segment on something like GameTheory (http://gametheoryshow.com). This show is run by two hightly respected gaming industry journalists...one of which was the former Editor in Chief of PC Gamer magazine. The show covers everything from mainstream to indie game development. It focuses less on the hype and well more on the theory/philosophy/struggles/successes of game development. Past guests have included the creator of Sins of a Solar Empire and even people working on Fallout 3 from Bethesda.

Other great professional podcasts that come to mind:
http://www.gamerswithjobs.com
http://www.pcgamerpodcast.com
http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3148397

These podcasts and forums would be an excellent outreach to both the hardcore and casual gaming market. Quite honestly it's up to us to generate buzz, AC/CJ need to focus on meeting dates and putting out a quality product on a less-than-shoestring budget.

I think it's time for all of us to put the waiting and boredom aside and put our desire to see AC/CJ succeed to action!

This is great news!
I already have the (only) french website on Tex Murphy so I may do the french version of this one if you want to translate it for all your fans from France, Swiss, Belgium, Quebec and more.

I'm in! I can code quite a bit, but nothing in graphics.... If you need someone on the C/C++ department, drop me a line, specially C.
Also, if you need some classical music to go with adninsreaction's cooking, this man knows his Schubert, and can write a tune or two!

Is it possible to get an Update from AC or James or someone that is being involved in this??? I'm sure I'm like everyone else and very curious...

That's outstanding news! I hope your ambitions are successful and that this project will indeed bring about a new Tex game.

I've been working on web sites off and on since 1995, so I do have quite a bit of experience. Lately, I've been working more with PHP and interfacing with MySQL, as well as portals like Joomla and Mambo. My own personal site is just straight HTML, although the top menu bar is DHTML.

Anything I can do to help, please count me in.

I've heard that James is taking the whole of the burden on his own back. What a cool guy. 8)

I wasn't talking about the Website, I was wondering about the Actual Project that AC and CJ are working on...
I know James has the Website well in hand... It's an extremely capable young man...

I once ran into an artist working on the game on YouTube (I've mentioned him elsewhere...). He told me this:
When you want updates then listen to what AC is saying for I know that it is for sure official. Hopefully soon you will see what comes out of us, but until then we must keep things under wraps.
So I guess it's top secret.

I'm not looking for full blown Details, I just want to know if everything is on track with the Time Table he mentioned... I'm hoping they aren't having Set Backs... So I would like an Update...
