Tex Murphy Pentathlon!!
Yeah I believe it'll be a ethernet wire connected to your computer (or a router, mine does both wireless and wired). So the "landline" one you have doesn't do this and conflicts with the phone line? Yeah definitely ask whoeever provides all your internet about it, maybe they know if the phone really will disconnect you.Bjyman wrote:Ok I have a wireless router. So by being wired you mean using an ethernet cord to connect the computer to the router?
Well I don't think it defeats the point of being wired if its a long wire, its still a wireDue to the configuration in my house I may need a 120' cord. If I get one would the length of the wire be so long that it defeats the point of being wired? I think I'm going to call the people handling my wireless up.
You could ask if your wireless provider can help with stability if thats an easier option. Some do OK with just wireless. Just depends on the network etc. Plus a wired connection will still have downtime if the local area internet goes down or for other reasons.

GK3 was a step forth, because it was in full 3D - one of the first third-person 3D adventures and first in the series
and it was definitely not the GK1 quality, because GK1 was traditionally hand-drawn adventure
and that`s what great about GK series - each game has it`s own unique style and utilizes different technology

For an update. First off I have installed the games from GOG and they have extras I wasn't expecting. Like a who wants to be a Millionaire Tex game. Also I didn't even know you could Bounty Hunt in Mean Streets.
The games are playable, so here are the things I'm looking into.
1. The first 4 games run on DosBox. However I don't want to play in fullscreen, because I wouldn't be able to view chat comments so that leaves me with playing DosBox in the smaller window. The question I have is, is there a way to configure a medium sized window with the games? It just makes things easier to see.
2. Overseer, because it's not on DosBox seems to only run in full screen mode. Am I mistaken on this? Full screen looks to be doable however.
3. I'm confident I'm able to stream the visual parts of the first 4 games with Adobe Flash. But I have yet to get audio. However I can stream with my mic.
I suspect something is going on with the audio configuration. I'm now looking into Virtual Audio Cable because it's mentioned in a YouTube tutorial. Am I on the right track with that?

Oh and by the way, don't feel obligated to donate as much as $5/hour. You could do $3 or $2 or whatever. I just thought it was a good format of donation for a marathon type fundraiser, similar to how charities who have running marathons and supporters pledge a certain amount per mile or kilometer run.
1. I'm no good with DOSBox but if you haven't already you could try asking on GOG forums. Or DOSBox forums:

2. I heard someone say that had trouble getting Overseer windowed. Though plumgas (from here) mentioned they were able to do it on GOG forum so you could ask them:

3. Do these help?
