Tex Murphy Pentathlon!!

I'll look into those replies, but I decided to go with XSplit. However my payment may not have gone through, but it's possible you could see demos on Twitch by Monday or Tuesday.
Cool. Shame the free options didn't work out but hope it all goes smooth now for you. :) Seems loads of people use XSplit so hopefully it'll make things easier.

Have you thought about putting your pentathalon onto live video like someone is doing with the SQ series? A great way for people to get a look at the games.

That's the plan (on Twitch likely). But this is the first time they're streaming so lots of setting up and testing to do.

Big progress has been made! Go to my broadcast channel http://www.twitch.tv/bjyman and check out both the video and info tabs.

That's the short version. The long version is I didn't have Stereo Mixer enabled on my computer so I bought an audio splitter to combine jacks, because I think that's going to make the cleanest presentation. In my opinion I don't think Microsoft wants people to have free reign of audio broadcasting.

I've opened the ChipIn on my channel now to account for processing time. I'm also looking to do live testing on my channel Thursday 9 PM EST. So is anyone down?
watched a little bit last night, have you done any adjustment in the dos box config file as I noticed the shop was a little choppy in UAKM

I'm not sure what I can do to increase DosBox settings, but if someone has ideas let me know. I actually bought XSplit today so the previous footage you saw last night must have been testing from Adobe Flash. All the games will be played in XSplit with the possible exception of Tex Murphy Overseer. It would be great if we can get Overseer in a window. I saw the gog thread, but it didn't help. I need more suggestions.
dosboxtex3.conf is the file , need to pen in notepad. check your mixer settings

these are my settings
nosound=false
rate=22050
blocksize=2048
prebuffer=100

just played it & the sound is really good

The only thing that was wasn't set to that config was the prebuffer. It was at 10 and I changed it to 100.

I hate to say this but there is a good chance I wont be able to stream Overseer. The game may very well be a full screen only deal. If that's the case I'm forced to stream the entire screen and it's not worth doing at that point.
If plumgas doesn't have any ideas then maybe there is an app that can force it to be windowed. Here's one that may work with games that use Direct X (according to Microsofts old page Overseer requires Direct x):

Or D3DWindower:

There are some other similar apps out there and guides on Youtube.

I got Overseer in a window with the second program, which seemed to drastically free up streaming resources. However the program causes a disappearing cursor in VR Mode. Reducing textures and setting LockVideo=1 config wont help. Feel free to let me know if there's any other windows that could force it in windowed mode.
Do any of these tips / edits for D3D Windower help? They're talking about other games than Overseer but perhaps playing about with the same variables might get a result.
Before running the game, in D3Dwindower, click the button beside the computer icon, click the last tab and tick the bottom left box.
* * Before running the game, in D3Dwindower, click the button beside the computer icon, and use the file path input box to locate D3DHook.dll that came with D3DWindower.
* Quit D3DWindower. Open up hook.ini, and change the following values:
* * Width & Height to whatever you want. I've only tried 4:3 ratios up to 1400x1050.
* * UseDirectInput=1
* * UseCursorMsg=0
* * UseCursorSet=1
* * UseCursorGet=1
* * UseCursorClip=1
* Quit D3Dwindower.

This is working great, with the exception that sometimes I have to fling the mouse back and forth a bit to get it to show up in the window.
I had also some serious problem with mouse cursor, but I made it work by some trial and error with UseCursor variables (msg, get, clip on; set off)

D3D Windower was the first program. It looks like those config lines would help, but it refuses to run Overseer in windowed mode.
why not reduce the window size in preferences in the config panel = 320x240 is a nice small screen. However The video files are full screen, maybe something in the tex ini file can be adjusted .

I wish it were that simple. I'm talking about the game window not the VR window. The faint cursor doesn't care what VR window display it's on.
