Fast and Furious

Watch a bunch of overpaid actors pretend to drive cars in front of a green screen. I mean, that movie had way too much CGI.

I Love You, Man

A series of awkward moments. Really funny.

I think they've taken the series too far... I haven't seen the 4th one yet, but I'll probably wait for it on Netflix...

We saw Eagle Eye (Netflix) the other night and I must say it was a thriller. Good quality actors in good quality action scenes and a good quality plot made for a great quality movie. I highly recommend it.

Man..... I thought someone would have commented on the movies I had posted about. =(

No one is anxious for these movies??

Just wanted to also mention one other thing about Dark City.

Maybe I can change your point of view Fred.

I agree with you in that the beginning story is very convoluted and you say to yourself.... I have no idea what is going on.....

But I think the director did it that way on purpose... So that you feel the same way as the character. Think of it from the main characters perspective.... the audience is feeling the same thing he is...

Being a Star Trek Fan, I will see the new movie... Though I don't agree with them making it... It may even be good, but I still won't agree with it... There are somethings that you just don't try to redo... Now if they wanted to make a Star Trek movie based off of Voyager or DS9 or the new Enterprise, that would have been fine... I just don't think they should have remade the original characters...

Very much looking forward to Salvation. We all thought this was what T3 was going to be. We finally get it, the real rise of the machines!

Star Trek looks very...polished. It's looking good, literately. I just hope the wax didn't take too much away from the original essence.

I saw Adventureland the other day. I cannot possibly understand why the trailer tried to pass it as a comedy. It was pretty good, actually, but terribly depressing. There must have been some serious backlash about it.

One funny thing about the movie, it was very 1980's. Not the costumes or the settings, which were sometimes spot on and sometimes completely off. The movie itself. If I had caught it on tv and didn't recognise one or two actors, I'd swear it was shot in the late 80's or early 90's. It has this depressing tone, and subject matter, typical of that period. It leaves an eerie feeling.

Watched The Day The Earth Stood Still the other night and I am inclined to agree with everyone on this movie.

1. For the first one hour and 35 minutes I give this movie 3 out of 4 stars. Why? Great special FX; good acting; several twist and turns NOT in the original but still quite enjoyable; "I came to save the earth" quote was spot on in lieu of mankind's efforts and literally destroying the earth; GORT was even more spectacular than the original (yes, I know, due to special FX); and maybe a few other reasons.

2. That being said, I give this movie 0 stars for the final few minutes. The ending was absolutely horrible! Left you hanging out to dry! My son said' "Maybe the director died and then just said 'Cut!' ". Also, what happened to the theme of the movie? In the original you clearly understood what it meant for the earth to stand still. In the updated version they seem to have totally overlooked that and just stuck it in at the ending. Too bad. I thought this movie had real potential untill the ending. I'm glad I didn't pay full price to watch it at the theater.

I watched Pump Up The Volume last night... Classic Freedom Of Speech Movie... I'm guessing most if not all here have seen it, so I won't bother posting a big post about it...

Watched Madagascar 2 and Bedtime Stories recently as well... Both very funny movies... I recommend them both if you are in a giddy mood or if you have kids...

The Reader with Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes.

The actors were obviously good, but the film didn´t really get me too excited.
I´ve read the book by B.Schlink 3 times and i can only say that people should rather read the book, it´s a LOT better.

Just saw Knowing. The first 4/5ths of the film was excellence. Then it shat itself. End of my stunning review.

If this guy ever made a film where the story is good all the way through it'd be one amazing movie.

I'll be seeing Star Trek this Thursday in Gold Class (right after installing Three Cards Till Midnight ;) )

As for Fast and Furious, I haven't seen it, but come on...wasn't the first one an attrocity in itself?
