We watched Clash of the Titans last night and we found it to be genuinely entertaining. We well remember the original and can tell you the new version was, of course, much more dramatic as a result of special FX. Still, it was definitely worth the rental price.

Watched Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief... This is an all around Fun movie... Great Action, Awesome Special Effect, just a really good film...

There are about 5 books I think in the series, I certainly hope they make more films from the books...
Just wish there had been a little more interaction as far as the main Gods go...

Yeah, Baf, we, too, thought it was an enjoyable family movie. I have read the first four books and just started reading #5. I must say they are quite interesting and I hope they make more movies.

Speaking of sequels, there is another Chronicles of Narnia coming out soon: The Voyage of the Dawn Trader which in my humble opinion was one of the best of the entire 7 volume series.

You know for some reason I just can't get into Narnia... Maybe I have the wrong closet or something...
Seriously though I just haven't liked the movies for some reason...

I think my father is going to start reading the Percy Jackson books though... He really enjoyed the movie as well... He has already read all of the Harry Potter books, which is strange considering most of what he reads are political books, like Vince Flynn and Tom Clancy, among others...

As for me I'm working on a couple of Oak Island books...

Just saw "The Other Guys" this weekend. I really enjoyed it. I think I like it best when Will Ferrell plays it more serious and isn't an idiot. I was really amused that the cops drove around in a Prius for their high speed car chases.

It was a lot of deadpan humor where they'd tell jokes with a perfectly straight face. I love that kind of humor.

Went out to the Drive in last night and saw Despicable Me, Inception, and the third Twilight movie...

Despicable Me is a pretty fun family flick... I saw it in 3D as well when I took my Son to the regular theater... It wasn't all that in 3D, but it is still a funny animated movie... The minions are kewl...

Inception is different, very different... Definitely need to see this one a couple more times to make sure I'm grasping everything going on... A very enjoyable movie if you are into this type of movie... Not even sure what to call it, it isn't horror of course, not a comedy, it isn't based on myth, and I really wouldn't put it in the supernatural category either... Definitely action and adventure, but it breaks boundaries that your normal action and adventure don't have... Going to sleep and dreaming a dream within a dream within a dream while trying to fool people that they aren't dreaming and whatnot... Yeah like I said, gotta see it a few times...

Twilight... Okay I'm more of a True Blood fan... I don't believe that Vampires "Sparkle" in the sunlight {they turn to a charcoal ash} and I don't believe in them living off of deer and other animals... They drink Human Blood, that has been the whole nature of Vampires for centuries... It's an okay movie, but me personally I would have probably left 30 minutes into it... But I was with company who wanted to see it over the other 2 movies we saw, so I stayed and really had to focus in order to keep from dosing off...

Inception is a heist flick. And a damn good one, at that. I was thoroughly impressed with the conveyance of the idea.

I'm well aware that it was a Heist flick, but it is still in its own category...
I enjoyed it very much... Can't wait for it to come out on Blu Ray...

Just because the scenario is different, and there's a wee bit of science fiction involved, doesn't put it in any different category. You might say it's a heist film in a league of it's own, but there's nothing else to cross it with. Except maybe, of course, sci-fi.

Just saw a classic movie yesterday. Dial M for Murder. It was pretty funny how quickly the guys plan goes wrong. I liked how the cop figured it out in the end.

I haven't been following this thread, so forgive me if there's already been posts for Toy Story 3. We just watched it last week, and I thoroughly loved it. There were two points where I was laughing so hard I was crying (you know the point where you need to laugh harder but you can't?): when the security monkey sounds the alarm, and when Buz starts doing Latin dancing. I couldn't stop laughing. Fun time with my wife and our son and his girlfriend.

Funny story, there. My son's sweet, innocent girlfriend said she had already seen it, but it was at the drive-in so she didn't see much of the movie.

Uh-huh. . .

Dial M for Murder was one of the great murder mysteries of all time. Hope you enjoyed it, Sam.

Yes I did enjoy the movie Jim. That husband was so evil. I loved the bit with the key at the end. I bought a DVD pack of 4 classic movies:

Dial M for Murder
The Postman Always Rings Twice
The Maltese Falcon
The Big Sleep

I'm slowly going through each one of them. I also caught the 2nd half of Casablanca on TV the other night. It's kinda cool since I actually got to visit Casablanca last year.

The Thread is about "YOUR" thoughts on the last movie "YOU" saw... Doesn't matter if anyone else has posted about Toy Story 3...

From Paris With Love... John Travolta makes an excellent performance... Good action and decent storyline, I mean after all you can only do so many Terrorist lined plots before you start feeling like you've seen it before... Not saying that this is boring or repetitive, far from it... It was however kind of short, only an hour and 33 minutes long...
