Any good sources on the making of Mean Streets?

I'm collecting information on retro games and writing out as much as I can for a new website that does deep dives. Much of it is done in an oral history kind of way, piecing together the story from whatever direct quotes I can find in clips and magazines. Eventually I start to pester the developers,...

Re: Mean Streets Theme Music Guitar Tab / Chords?

Don't know if it's any help (and it's ten years old) but somebody did a cover. My opinion it brings out the disco side of that 1990-era electronica, but it's an impressive bit of work.

Combine those two words and put them in the title of a movie. Congratulations, you have now created a title that makes me want to flee the immediate area the multiplex is in.

I played Mean Streets first, then the rest of the series backwards. In other words, while I was grooving to the nice public domain music back in... oh god let's not analyze that deep, I didn't play another Tex Murphy game until I managed one of the last Babbage's in existence, when I picked up Overs...

The trailer is probably a promo reel. At such an early stage, the first CG scenes are usually renders of potential gameplay footage, or else teasers like the MGS4 clips or the "audition" for Heavy Rain.

I do believe I read that it is being designed by the guy who was in charge of The Getaway, so no telling if it'll be awesome or aggravating. I'm really looking forward to it either way. I think it's safe to say people on this board are suckers for classic detective stories. Me, I've read all of Chan...

Thank god my synaesthesia seems to be at fault for the first impression I had of what this post said.

Take2 will eventually own everything.

Did I miss anything?

Hints were dropping left and right when last I was here, about the rights to Tex being purchased from the juggernaut that just released it's latest soon-to-be-defective OS.

Anything since then or am I going back into hibernation?

re: Playstation

Could've been that the lowest possible sales (the risk) was below the cost of overhauling the game to be compatible with PSX code, overhauling the control scheme to allow for a digital controller, and the licensing rights. If I recall, there's also been sporadic talk that Tex might still appear on c...

Re: re: Silent Hill - the movie

Well, needed to bring in some clarification because speculation in here is pretty scattershot at best. I'm not going to get too upset if I just spoiled something very minor from what is now a five-year-old game. Like they said in Penny Arcade, have you seen The Passion yet? Here's a spoiler; Jesus d...

re: Silent Hill - the movie

1. It's only suvival horror if you're a big buzzword fan. Otherwise it can fall into a couple of genres depending on your liking. (Prepare for a possible triple negative) Not only is the film NOT being done by Boll, it's being done by a guy who purports to be a fan of the series. From the noise filt...

re: New FMV-game in production

Yeah, Darkstar is on my own site's Junk Pile, a list of projects that died or really really look like they're going to. Basically, filming on that wrapped at LEAST a few years ago and they've been looking for a person to come along and give them money to either finish or distribute it. The game unde...

Re: re: New FMV-game in production

Hey Vance, Obviously, you didn't like Tender Loving Care. I have no opinion because I haven't seen it. However, the TLC people did a second one called Point of View. I wouldn't call it a game, but I quite enjoyed it as an interactive movie. Did you see Point of View? Afraid I haven't seen Point of ...
